Switching from 325/50 to slicks, what size slicks?

David,
I have a set of 28x10.5 stiffs on bogarts you are welcome to test fit if you want in Pensacola. They are 7.5 bs, 15x10's. They just barely touched in the front without a lil love over 120 mph, where the standard 28x10.5 didn't. I guess the S's are a hair taller.

Mine don't touch in the front at all, and nothing has been trimmed. They do rub in the back just barely......I think I'm right at 102" center to center
I don't know how your hweel sits though....I'm using a 7.5" BS wheel

Hey David. I was running the 28x10.5x15 stiffwalls on my car up at hub city. I have been 132 on them with no rubbing in the front or back, and do not have mini tubs or fenders opened up. Give me time to get my converter situation figured out, and we will see how they do. but i may be going to a 30" tire or have to step down on gear to make it through the traps. I have been faster on the 325/50's, but i haven't really had a chance to try these out fully yet. i'm hoping when its dialed in to be running low 1.3's or high 1.2's

So what is the deal with stiff wall and radial slicks......can someone tell me the advantages and what I need for a heavy car that leaves off the footbrake?
David do you thing a 28x10.5 W will clear?
BTW thanks, let me know.

I have MT's sportmans on one set of Bogarts and Moroso DS2's on another if you want to drive on a set and see how they feel. The MT's are more stable on the street than the DS2's to me, although the DS2 drives decent. I'm anti VW tire, buddy had one blow out at 140 street racing. Luckily it only peeled the tread off, and held air till he could stop it.

The stiffs are non w, and were a hair taller for some reason as I had no issues with a standard 28x10.5. In your setup with it being tubbed, I'd do the W as it is much wider and you have plenty of room for them.

Hey man, i think the W would fit. I am non mini tubbed and have a ton of room with the 28x10.5x15 Stiffwall. As for the difference. The radial and the stiffwall allow for less sidewall flex, and you don't suffer as much MPH loss as regular slicks. I have had better 60' so far with the MT Radials but haven't really had a chance to try the slicks that much. so we will see.

I run the 28x10.5S et drag, I have about 3/4 of an inch around the tire and they don't rub on anything, and I've gone as fast as 139.2 @ the track so far on them. The W tire is a little wider then these, if you can fit a 325/50 then you probably can fit the W, just look @ the clearance in front and behind the tire, as long as you have an inch, you should be able to run them no problem.
