Default Carb/elbow guys, come in.

I'd like to see some pics of these setups on cars with the engine in the stock location. Thanks.

I am going to be doing a 406 18* sbc motor with either a turbo or blower with a blow through carb coming up in a camaro, I'll post photos when we get started on it.

Thanks guys I am trying to get an idea of how much trimming is needed to fit an elbow, is it a quick job? I am trying to decide what intake I want to run with the engine I am building. It is going to be a forged stock cube LS3 with LS3 heads, hydraulic roller, 50/50 street/strip setup. I am pretty sure if I go with a single plane I will keep it fuel injected.

Ray I am curious, what does that elbow neck down to at the smallest point (total MM of opening) because it is a good idea, but I question 2 parts of that design, #1 is it a restriction ebcause of the tight bend/smaller path to the intake, and #2 what does it do to the distribution of the intake/how does it effect the intake's flow?

I'm at the point where a carb style intake might be a good move, but I question wether it's worth it to do an elbow and keep my NW90mm or just put a carb style TB on top of it.

A second thought, I dunno if anyone has looked into this, but could you mill the top of the intake down some where the mounting surface is, to lower the total height of the intake? I know this would decrease the total plenum, and some porting inside would be required to regain some of that, but it's something I think might help this situation with the elbow, I dunno how thick the bolt flanges are and whatnot on the top of the intake, how much room you have to take material off, last time I looked at one of those I think you probably could mill a good 1/8th of an inch off. Not that an 1/8th of an inch is going to make a world's difference, but it would help some.... hell there might be alot more there to take off then I think.

Don't have exact dimensions, but we have sold many of these and so far have had no issues from the design....they are used in both FI and NA applications.

I'd be intrested to see how a 90mm with your elbow vs a carb style TB on top of that intake, both tuned speed density to take the maf out of the loop and see the results.

This elbow fits under this hood

With an LS1 front end it would be real close to clearing with a stock hood.
