Panhard bar centers the rear end, do you have to have one? No, but you have to have something to locate the rear end in its place if you don't run one, wishbone, track locater or something.

take it out and let me know how it goes. j/k, you might want to leave the panhard bar in there. the support on the other hand, you can remove.

a panhard is always helpful in some regard. in racing you want an adjustable no matter the application to be sure that the rear is properly centered and square under the car. that is the only way to make your suspension work 100%

you can remove the top bar? will it affect the panhard bar at all? that would have been nice to know while building my exhaust.

I have run my car without the upper bar for many years. On a drag car the panhard does not see alot of side load so the brace isn't really needed. I drive my car a good amount on the street and have had no issues. On a road race car or a street car that does some high speed cornering I would keep it.

Keep the upper, when your car starts to leave hard it will need the extra support to track straight.

I've never seen a drag race car that uses a panhard rod as a locating device use a panhard brace.

If you make a custom drag race car, order a panhard rod, they don't send you a brace.

I welded around my panhard brace, narrowed it some and moved up the mounting hole then boxed in the outside, it's pretty damn strong.

If you're trying to make some super fast drag car run a wishbone, if this is your street car you wanna drag race some and remove weight, toss the brace.

If I crash and kill myself because the panhard rod brace was removed I'll make sure some one posts it for me

Well my car cuts 1.29 60fts on HP, the car was pulling to the left for no reason despite adjustment. We put the upper brace back on and the problem went away.

That's my point, a fast car running 1.29 60fts yeah it might be a good idea to have it on.

On a street car that goes to the track once in a while and knocks off an 11 sec pass, I think it's just dead weight at that point.

You can always reinforce the stock mount since at that point a lot of people are not using stock gas tanks and run anti roll bars up top or have the stock gas tank removed, you can triangulate it with a piece of tubing.

Also did you weld yours on? You know that thing is held on by spot welds here and there right?

I am surprised it didn't fall off running 1.2 60fts held on with spot welds, that's why I welded mine all the way around and boxed in the out side and welded it to the side of the frame when I put tubs in the car, mine isn't moving unless it twists 1/2 the frame with it

I boxed in the outside of mine with 1/8th" and ran the piece up the the side piece on the frame to tie it all in.
