Default For you guys that run a radial type frontrunner, I found a better size.*PIC*

I stumbled onto this by accident, a buddy has a 70 Chevelle they were on and he let me borrow them.

They are identical in size to a M/T 26x7.5 sportsman frontrunner They look MUCH better than the 165r15 VW tire and handle the weight MUCH better, the tire is not all squashed down in the front. They are just a hair wider than the M/T.

195/70/15 is the size...they look real good. At less then 1/2 the price of the M/T the look REAL good!.

What is the speed rating? I know those 165R15 have a 104 speed rating

I'll stick to my MT ET Fronts. I run them with a slick or DR out back, and it still works great.

I have seen them in a "T" speed rating, which is what. ...118mph?

Just wanted to share, these tires to me look better than the 165 and carry the load better....I have seen the 165 with 50lbs of air and STILL looked squashed down, these dont.

Good to know for those looking for a cheaper radial. I used to have the 165s and had the same problem with a lot of air and still looked low, and my car is really light.

I had a set of 205/70/15's on my 3.5" wheels last year. The sidewalls bulged a little since the wheel is pretty skinny but I had no issues with them.

The rims in the pic are 4 inches wide, if you can find a 185/65/15 that would be the shiznit.

I want something that is a true 26"

The 195/70 are the EXACT same height as the M/T 26x7.5x15, just a hair wider.....I like them....the link that Boo has up above has some 185/65 that are "H" speed rated....thats a 130mph I think.

The 185/65/15 is only 24.46" tall and the 195/70R15 is 25.74" tall.

Ran those on my thirdgen race car for 2 years on a 3.5 prostar. Just sold them in favor of a set of one piece polished magnums with 26" M/T ET fronts for the new 4th gen build.

Pics of the prostars: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...885&highlight=

FYI, the radials ran me $52 a piece mounted and balanced at wal mart.

For 52 bucks I can fly with the eagle huh I might have to go to walmart and check those out.

Wait that's two years ago wonder what they cost now.

Looks like that size is around 60-75 bucks depending on the tire this was the rating on one.

Edit:Just saw these:

From uniroyal Size: 185/65R15 88H

Sidewall Cosmetics: Blackwall
Temperature Rating: A
Traction: A
Speed Rating: H (130 mph)
Load Index: 88 (1235 lbs.)

130 mph rated, perfect for a lot of our cars and 1235 LB rated

65.00 each.

No, I just looked them up at Walmart, I have to get new ones my 165's sat for too long and don't look happy

Those looked like a good deal to me, plus with 130 speed rating it makes me feel a little better than driving on a tire rated to go 102 mph

How wide is that 195 70 15?
