In my situation I never thought I could afford to go fast enough that weight reduction would be something I ever got into. But now I get a little faster each year and o never thought to use weight reduction as a way to go faster I just buy something that takes higher boost better than the part I'm replacing and crank up the boost ****. After seeing how heavy the fbody cars yall have are I can see why it's important. **** my s10 full interior no reduction 8.8 heavier than 10 bolt added caltrac bars turbo all the piping intercooler extra gauges and methanol fuel cell etc. I've added a couple hundred pounds instead of subtracting and I'm still only 3150 with me in it. Makes my dreams of a ws6 roller to swap all my **** over to seem like a step backwards

Too much quality in these cars = weight.

We ain't talking a new edge mustang 3100 lb car with low quality parts that don't weigh nothing.

So what is low quality on a new edge compared to an F bomb?

How many of you are running without any front bumper support (reinforcement)?
And without the rear?

BTW I weighted mine (camaro 99) and it is 17lbs (with the styrofoam). So I'm not thinking on buying an aftermarket 12lb if mine is 17lb

Don't think about safety please jeje. More in terms of stability and chassis rigidity. Strictly running 1/4 mile and casual daily driver to work

I have bumper supports and bought a burkhart front bumper support to open up room for the duggy box cai and chose it because it was still a very substantial bumper support. It's probably even stronger than the stock one.

My rear bumper support i lightened. But really for a street car you're probably better off leaving it alone for ballast/balance for weight in the back of the car.

Thanks! Anyone on driving a low without both of them and no aftermarket piece?

If no, then it is a wrap and the weight of mine is not 20 btw. 17+-1lb (scale deviation)

I'm not running a front or back bumper support. Not floppy at all on my T/A, Camaro might be different.

If you leave the fibreglass support piece on it will probably support the bumper cover.

I dont care if my bumper deforms with the wind or some one sitting on it jeje (because if they sit I'll purge nitrous on them)

THANKS! specifically this kind of feedback I needed, someone that is not using neither of the supports and know from them if they feel the car saggy or not
Valuable feedback

Just drove mine across the scales at work and honestly, thought I'd be a little lighter but maybe right where I should be. Car came in a 3300 with about 2/3-3/4 tank of fuel. Has 427SBC alluminum heads, Th350, s60, welds all around, no HVAC, no air bags, no rear seat, manual brakes, battery in trunk, all the insulation under the carpet cut out, no ABS, most the dense black sound deadening at the firewall gone, any and all controllers not needed, gone, auto meter gauges, no front sway or mounts, mild steel 6 point bar. Was thinking I'd be closer to 3100 but maybe I'm just way off in my thought process here. Thoughts, ideas to loose more?? *Edit I do have a tubular k member and manual rack to go in sitting in the shop*
