Default Could This Be Some Sort Of Lane Walk?

well guys first off i have my stock 18s all around with nitto 555 235/40/18s in the front and 275/35/18 bf drag radials in the rear.

and this hasnt been the first time this has happened to me. when i have ran guys on the street, i have my stock tire pressure and heat these tires up pretty good. when i launch it hooks very well but after about 35mph it does something very weird. the car feels like its wobbling left and right and just doesnt feel right.

so far everyone has told me that should not be happening. and the really weird part is after im done racing and drive normally the wobbling just doesnt happpen. i even jump on the freeway up to 100 mph and nothing. i know i dont run full on slicks on the rears but could this be some form of lane walk ive been hearing about?

and yes my lug nuts were tight. oh and its a 2005 gto 6.0 ls2 thanks

Could it be possible that your spinning and don't know it? not all crazy spinning, just spinning while your moving forward because of the crappy streets lack of grip.

i dont believe so, its a slow wobble, feels like the car is being pulled left to right i dont think it would spin from 30 all the way to 110mph.

i think its because you have too big of a tire on the rim. according to the stickies, the max on an 8 in. rim is a 245. so your sidewall is probably mis-shaped and causing the sway back and forth. just my guess though.

im not sure why it wouldnt happen on the street though.

is it possible the sidwalls are flexin?? that would cause a wobbling effect on the big end.. but thats usually on ur big tire slicks

35 is the profile but i think the sidewall is strechted with the 8 inch rim with a 275 tire
can that be a problem
ive seen a few people did this

Switch the 2 back rims with a buddy and try it out. See if it continues or if its just a tire/rim issue.

I get a feeling very similar to what you are explaining when my torque arm bolts loosen up that connect it to my moser 12bolt. It kind of sucks to because they come loose pretty often. If you find out what was causing this plese post it so that others will learn from it.

i think my problem is more of a tire issue because this only happens after i heat these tires up good and make a pass.

i can do 130mph all day and this wont happen but i do a smokey burnout and a launch and i get that dredded wobble
