I consider 2800lb raceweight very light. So maybe 800hp will get there?

.2 slower than the top is .2 away from where I'm used to being. Had the quickest NA stock shortblock in 03. No but really, I want to race all day without worrying about too much. I don't mind the maintenance between weekends. I would think if it's setup right, it shouldn't take re-adjustment every pass. I'm not shooting for the top. Just want to be fast NA without tearing crap up all the time. A decent size solid roller setup should put me right where I want to be. Then again I've never ran one.

PM the guys from SAM and SIXSPEED INC, they have the two fastest N/A setups, but like I said I am pretty sure they are both running serious rollers and operating up to the 9k range.

I think they both weight more than 2800 so that should help, how close you'll get with 800 hp is hard to say, ask them how much hp they make and their race weight and you'll have a good idea how fast you should be capable of going, they both run a manual trans.

But I'll tell you from the git go, 4,000-4,500 stall isn't going to be close enough to run that.

That's a stall you'd put in something shifting at 6,000 - 6,500 or so, not 8k-9k+

Make sure the trnny will be able tot take 8000 rpm+ of input speed too, there's a line that you really shouldn't cross with the th400 type stuff'

Mark Tate ran a Th400 into the low 8's high 7's in the 1/4 mile from what I remember, I'm sure the input shaft speed was pretty fast =)

Just an FYI , Scott changed his setup and I purchased the 427. It will be going in my 2002 Formula at full weight in a car that I drive on the street but also bracket race 2 to 3 events per month. His Camaro with alot of weight reduction and a 346 will probably be faster then my Formula w/ 427.
