Racing a A4 This spring I plan on going to the track for the first time. With the mods in sig. will I cross the finish line in OD? Should I put it in drive or OD when I race? My plans before I go to the track is to remove the AC, PS, relocate alt. install 1.6 RR, and a tune with the posibility of OBD1 conversion.

In my A4 with 3:73's I hit OD at 128. I only run 117 mph in the 1/4. 4:10's are steep as hell, but, I still don't believe you'll come anywhere close to hitting OD. I think with heads and cam you might with that gearing. I always launch in Drive ... best gear to start in ... in my opinion.

You're not gonna max out 3rd gear an in A4, even with 4.10s.
Air the DRs down to 22psi or so.
Leave it in OD, get the tires good and warm.
Give it a little throttle then mash it on the third yellow.
If she spins, air it down a little more and try again.
