Default Adding Electronics/timer?

My track is thinking of combining classes this coming season which means i could end up racing some minivan at some point. I am in a footbrake class 8.6 or faster without electronics now. The next class up crosses over with us and is called Pro the difference being they can run electronics. What is the best way to go about adding this to my car if i decide to move up in class? What parts do i need, any diagrams would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't know if anyone that has ever put a throttle stop setup on an lsx car, but I guess it could be done somehow. Call Dedenbar, they make alot of that type of stuff, they might be able to help you out more then most on here can.

I'm not talking about a throttle stop. I mean electronics to launch on a pro tree. I did not know which box people are using, I guess i need a tranny brake also. The pro guys dial in there reaction and tree time to launch i believe

Yes, Dedenbar also makes those kind of setup's as well. Talk to Madman, I think the pewter transam that was in GM hightech was set up with electronic's for bracket racing like you're talking about.

To run in that class, you're gonna have to be able to repeat within .05 if not less to win, that's not easy racing to do. I'll venture to say the slower the car is with the bigger the tire, the better of you will be, dead consistant hooking is an absolute must.

Thanks for the info. I think you can footbrake in that class if you dare, but you do not stand much of a chance against electronics for consistancy. We will find out at our track meeting what is going to happen with the classes.

footbraking vs electronics, good luck. If you run a transbrake (th400, glide) and a 2 step you probably would be o.k., as long as the car dead hooks and you can nail the shifts and tree every time, but you'd still be at a serious disadvantage against guys running the electronics that take care of transbrake disengagement off the tree.

Exactly that is why i am asking what to use for electronics if i go that way. I will see at tune if the car will hook still with the 100 hp i added this year. What do you run?

Sweet, i can't wait to see what my car will run this year. I don't have a roll bar in it yet, if i go under 7.49 the track will complain. I think i may be buying one.
