Not a bad idea if mufflers can't be used due to clearance, or if you need a drop in db for racing requirements only. Never used them, but they are popular with altereds and dragsters

I ran these when my dumped TD's with dynomax race bullets were a little too much for my taste on the street...made a big difference. I was able to insert them in the pipe right before the muffler without welding them in. I could then simply pull my mufflers off and remove them for the track. They claim they don't create any restriction, but it's hard to believe placing disks in your exhaust won't create a restriction.

I've used them in 2 customers cars as well as on my old top sportsman car. They realy don't do much to quiet it down to be honest. You may also need to watch out as some classes that require mufflers, wont allow an insert type muffler.

They work, i bought a 4in turndown with one in there. I ran it for a little bit with it in there then i cut it out. I quieted it down a good bit, it did seem to run better with it taken out. I dont have any hard numbers, just the ole butt dyno.

I remember talking to a tuner about them a few years back and was told that they do quiet the car down some but also rob some power as well... Again it's what I was told when I was looking into them...
