Sounds like a fishy deal to me.
How's it a fishy deal? It was up 30" and I was given a creeper and light to check everything while the shop owner went off and left me alone.

Yea, it's a stock 2001 Z28 roller.
It has all the wiring un-butchered under the hood. It needs an engine, trans (which I have) exhaust(which I have) radiator and fans, driveshaft, and some misc other little ****.
I paid $2500 for it.
I wasn't asking for an appraisal or anything.
Simple question asking for ideas why this part of the body is wavy.
Maybe it was hit with a motorcycle tire or some other soft object I don't know.
Here are some pics of it. http://jayscarsite.homestead.com/misc.html

Age-old debate that will go on forever. I had one ... then, I had two ... then, I did weld-in subframes ... then no more stress dimples, body wrinkles, or whatever you want to call them. I'm convinced they are from 'body flex' before the subframes were welded in; however, one very experiencedroad racer on this board made a very convincing argument the floorboards would be the first area of stress where damge would occur ... indicating if there is no damage to the floorboard, then, it would be impossiblte the right rear fender could be damaged by 'body flex'.

I still think mine was from 'body flex' before the subframes ... too many F-Body's out here that have the same identical damage.

I can't even imagine how many runs would have to been made with that car, and at what speed to get that to happen.

If they're telling you that's from racing it, I'm throwing up the BS flag
+1 on that.. i've never seen torque dents that look like that... hey, as long as you like ur deal then to each his own... it's obviously something that can be fixed

Mine has twisted buckles in the same spots but not as bad as that. Before I put the bar in I broke the body welds in a few places and she started to twist.

I'd be more concerned with that crappy welding job.

Yea, I'd think those shitty welds would have broke.

About those SFC's this car has, they DO NOT attach to the rear LCA bolt!
They are welded on approx two inches in front of it!

Once I get this thing to the garage those are getting cut off and replaced.

Yea, I think I was BS'd a bit.
I bought the car based on what I seen and what I plan to do with it. It was registered in North Richland Hills, not sure if thats technically north texas but I was told it was popular in n Texas around '05 or '06.
It had a different hood on it and different wheels.

Hard to tell from your pic what's going on.

I've seens some rippled quarters here and there, and also some hatches that got tight... either from cars having a bajillion passes on them or no subframe connectors.

Maybe something else made contact and dented that spot. Even a tire can dent a quarter.

I was thinking the same thing, they broke the studs and ejected the tire off the car, and that happened then. They just cleaned the rubber off and left it.
