As far as I know you can keep it up front but, if you move it to the rear you'll have to put a master switch that will kill the car when its running. I know a friend that has it up front and runs 8.60's

If you look about 5 posts down they talk about it. May not be legal after all.

As long as you leave the battery in the factory spot you don't have to put a kill switch on no matter how fast you go.

per the rulebook, master kill switch is required 9.99 or faster, regardless of battery placement

Yes Charles, it's legal to have it up front-you just need a kill switch for it.
Not sure how that's gonna look though, having the switch up front like that.

i think the switch has to be in the rear of the car, as thats where everyone puts it and track saftery officials know where to look incase of a accident

Yes it is legal. Yes it is a great way to install the required switch and keep the battery up front with out adding all the extra wieght of the cables.

I have one new in the box I am not using because I finally moved my battery.

At our tarck the stock battery LT1 holddowns will not pass tech for a 10 second car. They say you need the metal ones that go over the battery.I dont know what the LS1 ones are like but that might be a consideration as well
