Default A Few Progress Pics

POR'd the cage, still waiting on Wolfe for the rear bars.

I got the motor plate bracket welded up and the waterpump/alternator dialed in. I cut the bmr alternator bracket down .030 to make up for the distance the 1/4" motor plate and gasket kicked it out. I'm also well on my way with the gauge clusters. I used 5" Autometer Ultralight tach/speedo along with 2 5/8 oil pressure, coolant temp, and trans temp sensors. There is a raptor shift light between the speedo/tach. I will be adding some turn signal marker lights. The panels arent quite done, they will end up being powdercoated black. The main cluster also needs trimmed a little at the bottom to dial it in along with some button head stainless bolts. I have switches on the way for the switch panel where the ac/heat controls were.

Now I have about a weeks worth of wiring. The front suspension should be showing up soon. Hope to have it done or close to by May 1, exluding paint.

Looks good! How did that POR15 turn out on the roll cage? Does it give a nice finish?

Looks good. I had teh same issue with the motor plate kicking the alt out, I just cut the plate off where it was in the way so I could bolt right to the block. Hopefully the 6 waterpump bolts will be enough to hold things in place, either that or I'm gonna drill it and put a bolt into the heads to help hold it in place, and just make a spacer to take up the gap on the passenger's side.

It's a wolfe cage. The Por-15 looks good if you take your time with it. You need to use foam brushes though as it never comes out good and smooth with regular brushes. I'm sure there will be a few spots where it isn't completely smooth like powdercoat, but I can live with it as it's a heck of a lot toughter than paint. I just rattle canned under the hood with semi-gloss. Of course it scratches easy, but easy to touch-up.

I found something you haven't taken out yet... The extra door fiberglass. You can cut around all the bracing and mounting holes for the door panels. I have mine drawn out and I'll start cutting on it Thursday.

It looks good. I want to paint my engine bay like that, but I don't want to have to drop the engine and trans to do it. Oh well, it will add to the sleeper look.

There isnt much weight to save in the doors. I do plan to trim a little before my door skins go back on.

I know, but every little bit adds up. That's my philosophy:

You already removed it all since you mini tubbed yours. The first time I cut out all the rear seat and seat belt brackets I had all that material still left on the car. I went back over all my cuts and cut as close to the spot welds as I could and pulled it all off. It took a long time, but it was worth it.

I can't tell in these pictures, but you can trim a lot of the roof and a arm metal once you put a cage in. Here's a thread on it:
