Angry I can't get it in the 11's

I was told that with this setup (see below) I'm capable of 11's so I took her to the track and I can't get there.

I have a 01 TA with the following mods:

stage 2 cnc ported 59cc pp heads
224/224 .581/.581 112 lsa(moving up to custom spec'd cam)
hooker lt's
160 thermo
tsp y pipe w/highflow slp cats
custom ds
ds loop
taylor wires
ngk plugs
u/d pulley
spohn tq arm
stb
sfc's
lca's
adj panhard bar
moser 12 bolt w/3.73's-truetrac
upgraded t56
ls7 clutch
ls2 flywheel
pro 5.0 shifter
chrome moly pushrods
*stock exhaust
*stock intake
*stock tb
*stock bottem end
**I think that's it.**
-mt/et street's (275-40-17's)

With the mods being listed I got 404 rwhp on the dyno (did not have 12 bolt at time of dyno). The best pass I have made is a 12.3 @109 w/1.90 60' and 1/8th mile is normally 8.1 @ 86mph (other passes were 12.4-6 @109-110 w/ 1.9x 60'). I normally get around a .600 or so light. I run the m/t's at 15psi and and I heat the m/t's up for a few seconds then roll through to the light and launch around 3500-4000rpm . It doesn't sound like it bogs but it does spin just a little on take off and I'm shifting around 6000-6300 rpms. I don't miss a shift and I'm not granny shifting. I am moving up to a bigger camshaft so I wanted to see what I could get out of the 224 first. I am at full weight (weight actually unknown). Does anyone have any ideas on what I could do besides maybe a driver mod? I think we're only like 164ft here. Should I change the psi in the tires? Launch a lot harder? Launch softer? Shift sooner or later? All input is appreciated. I was pulling a 12.8 @ 115 on street tires so I'm lost! What are you guys launching at to achieve such low 60's and 11's.

Thanks.

I would start by making sure your tune is good. That car should be trapping higher than 109 mph. I ran 109 mph with just a lid, catback, and 3.73's with a full weight A4. What changed between now and when you were trapping 115 mph?

Do you still have the stock shocks on the car? I would focus on getting the car to hook good too...get those 60 ft times down by really launching the car.

The tune is great or so I think. Well I changed out the rear from stock 10 bolt to 12 bolt and I put on some m/t's in stead of street tires. Maybe like you say I should just launch higher than 4000 rpm's.

It's spinning when it shouldn't...It spins just a little but then it takes off, but I'm thinking in order for me to cut a 1.60 - 1.70 60' or so I should go to a different tire.

Put slicks on it and leave HARD and see what happens thats the easiest way to see if its the tires/launch/driver/etc.. Its very hard to launch on drag radials with a 6spd car unless you are at a killer track or you slip the clutch perfectly.. You should definitely be running in the 11's with those mods or damn close anyways.. I have friends here locally that are "cam only" and full weight that are running 11's..

Your mph is really low also.. I use to run 12.40's @ 114 all day long.. Sounds to me like its bogging some out of the hole with the DR's. The street tires were probably spinning more which netted you a higher MPH. I would try to launch around 5k rpms.. Try dumping the clutch at 5k.. If it spins BADLY then you know that dumping the clutch isn't gonna work. So go back and try to leave at 5k and slip the clutch just enough to keep the tires from smoking.. Slipping the clutch takes practice..

See that's what I was thinking.. put some different tires>slicks on it and see what she will do. I'll try to do a 5k dump and see what happens and if it doesn't work then I guess I'm going to be in the market for different tires. Thanks for your input.

Do you still have the stock shocks or aftermarket? Is the front swaybar still on the car? I would work on that before I bought new tires.

Someone put some moroso shocks or something like that all the way around and yes I still have the front sway bar on it. What would it do to the car if I took it off?

Those tires should be fine, Just get your launches down good. Your car should be trapping 114-115 with those mods.

You don't necessarily have to take it off, but at least disconnect the end links. It will help the car transfer weight to the rear and plant the tires to the pavement.

I'm not familiar with the moroso shocks. Are they adjustable?

I honestly don't even know. Atleast I think they are moroso..? That's what the previous owner had put down as one of the things he had changed from stock. I'll try to find out as soon as I can.

I sure would like to be able to pull the wheels like in that picture. Is that actually your car or just a random pic?

I tried to look at the shocks more and all I can see is M48 and that they are orange. Sorry I couldn't get more but I don't own a lift so thats the best I can do until Monday. I got a really small pic of the front to show you what I'm working with but It was too big and I tried to resize it but it didn't work out that well.

I got a somewhat recent video of me aganist a evo and I have more on the site that you can look and see whats going on.

going from the video.... you bogged so leave harder, you need the driver mod or learn how to shift fasrer and shift the car around 6500 or so.. and see where that nets you! good luck!

also get a lid and a cutout to help the car out even more!

you cant get in trouble if the cutout is closed on the street! only uncap it at the track....

by your video you can def. shift a lot faster .2-.3 i would say just by shifting

I was thinking that the shocks were still stock. I know that they suck.

The cop that got me lived down the road from me and heard me rev up my car from time to time while working on it. So he knew I had it and got me one night right after I closed it.
