I feel mine may not be getting into third gear all the way. I did check the linkages at the tranny and it seemed in adjustment. It feels like my brand new TH400 is slipping third just like the last tranny. I will have to take a look at the shifter linkage now.

if its not all the way in gear it should burn it up... maybe your converter is wrong or your rear gear is too tall and ur car cant pull it

So why run OL275 instead of X? I do believe you can be a bit lighter in OL275?

we will be lighter, with multiple kits, cast intake with a 8500 TB and room to grow next year on engine size... the fastest pass in OL275 is a 4.38 in eliminations i believe by my neighbor and friend marty stennet. if we cant run a low 50 or high 40 with our setup we have now its not a parts problem is a tuner problem (me) lol.

just thought i'd let you guys know about my journey.

My dragzine write up.

67-year old Joe Wallace sits fifth in the Limited Drag Radial field with a stellar 4.37 from his nitrous-fed Chevrolet Camaro.
The car sports a 619 cubic inch, BES-built big-block with conventional heads and a single cast intake, topped by an Accufab
four-barrel 8500 throttle body. An NOS 3-stage dry nitrous system provides the extra horsepower, with with fuel provided
by Billet Atomizer injectors and the ignition from a coil-on-plug setup. The Wallace’s, Joe and son and crew chief, Tyler,
have been running this car for more than a decade in various forms, with Tydo Race Cars handling the updates over the
years to bring it to its current state. With a previous career best of 4.43, their 4.37 this weekend is uncharted territory
for the pair.

its just me and my dad and one of his friends that does all the work on the car. i'm 30, my dad is 67 and my dads friend is mid 40's. its not an ideal scenario but we get it done. it may be at a slower pace.... but we get it done.

we dont hire a tuner, we dont bring in "chasis gurus." We just dont quit. we've ran this combination for years and have just refined it over the course of time.

I've found myself at the edge of quitting many times, when that happens i just step away for a few weeks and come back to it when i'm ready.

going fast isnt hard but it will try your patience.

The one thing i've learned is everyone has an opinion and everyone will tell you about it.
you have to be a little hard headed and but also be able to admit you're wrong.

I thought I was the only one over here beating my head against a wall with my car. You are going way faster and just plugging away. Keep going bud. Good luck.

Ever get out to I57 anymore? I work on the Fire/Safety team out there when I'm racing and would be interested in seeing you run.

i keep in contact with scott quite a bit. The plan is to have a huge free test session for some of the fastest radial cars around in the spring of 2017.

Now that they have the renovations done and now have the ability to host a crowd he's doing that for publicity. He will bring in tyler crossnoe to prep and all he asked is that he could use the time slips from the test session to prove that he has a very nice track (which he in fact does.)

im sure once i57 does that we'll be up there a lot more with the radial car.

Im working on my drag busa right now and im sure i'll be there with that and dad's bracket car from time to time as well.

another little up date

we been doing this a long time and we finally had everything fall into place.

we were #1 qualifier and had #1 MPH.
we were the fastest car in every round.

showed up with a brand new un-tested tranny and came home with the win!
