Yes...the crossbar made the stock seats uncomfortable (I'm 6'3"). The only way you could lean the seat back was if you moved the base forward a lot. If the base of the seat was all the way back, you couldn't lean the seat back much. I was always battling the seat positions trying to find something comfortable, but never could. I eventually just switched out the stockers for a pair of kirkeys and I fit great.
I have seen a few that have the crossbar set back to give the seat more room, but I don't know how legal that is. It definitely isn't as strong as having the crossbar directly in line with the hoop.

i lik this thread because after this winter i should be at this point wats better the ove the seat or through the panels for the rear bars? also im 6'4" and i really need to be able to lean the seat back a bit to be able to drive it does the crossbar stop u from being able to hav the seat back all the way and tilted back some?
I'm 6'5 don't have a cage in my car(yet) but my buddy who is 6'4 does, and with the kirkey's mounted to the floor his seats are fine. the biggest concern of me wasn't laying the seat back but was getting it low enough remeber have to have a helmet on too.

how many "points" is it exactly? is there a bar behind the dash that connects? nothing goes thru the firewall correct?
what's the purpose of the little bar that connects diagonally in the back?

I can get my tops out easily. It was great at the Drag Expo. Over half of the people that looked at the car had to tug on the bar by the top to make sure it was real.
