Default Installing seat belt harness question...

I have the 6 point wolfe cage installed in the car now and I recently purchased a 5 point cam lock harness.

How are you suppose to attach the 2 should straps to the wolfe cage? I see it has a "tab" back in that area that runs about ~6 inches in length off the bar. Do you drill a hole and attach to that? Or go between that and the bar and clamp it? I dont want to start drilling and find out I did it wrong a fucked up the cage.

Any pics would be great. Thanks.

If you bought the "roll cage" type harness, weld a tap on the cross bar and bolt the shoulder straps on.

You can see my set-up in this picture

I'd like to see how you guys mounted the sides. I'm having clearance issues using the stock belt mounting points.

mine are bolted right where the factory belt goes. i just stacked the fractoy belt over the top with longer bolts. just so i could still have the lap belt for the street.

This= best, no fasteners to fail, load carried evenly by both belts.

Chassis builders as well as belt manufacturers prefer using two tabs so that the bolt is in "double shear".

In any case, the tabs should go to the front of the bar to lessen the tendency of creating a rotational moment on the tab, instead promoting a pure-shear condition where the fastener, tab, and weld will be its strongest.
