Default Traction Issue

I have a problem. i can not get my car to hook to save my life. here is a list of ALL the performance parts i have on the car:

Pacesetter LTs
Custom 3in Y (no cats)
3 inch to the axel and dumped after bullet
Circle D 4c(3600 with 2.4 str)
all free mods except p&p tb
slp lid
lakewood control arms
egr/Air delete
moser axels
detroit locker 3.42s
100 shot dry from HSW(not shooting off the line)
Energy Suspension rear sway bar bushings
msd wires/ tr6 plugs

that pretty much sums it up. i have tried both 275/40/17 mt et street radials from 17-12 psi and 26/10.5/16 et streets down to 13 psi. If you have any advice that will help i would really appreciate it.

A adj. TA will help but it probably won't solve everything. What rpm are you launching at? Does it spin instantly or after a few feet? What is the body of the car doing i.e. front or rear lifting or squatting? Finally, what track and quality of prep, air temp, humidity all of this plays into how the cars runs. Assuming the track prep is good I would guess weight transfer is going to be your problem. While changing the springs may help changing the shocks will help more, after all the shocks control the rate the springs work. I'm just blindly guessing here so hopefully others will help out, videos are always helpfull. If you can, have a friend film your car from the rear this will tell you lots about what you cars doing that you can't tell from the drivers seat. I'm by no means an expert and I'm still learning the suspension thing myself so, good luck!

Hard to tell in the video...I was mesmerized by the Final Countdown from the 80s...My collar of my shirt went up and I think I mulleted myself! Anyway, I dont see the need for the John Force style crazy burn out passed the tree and it seemed like a long time to get to stage with the tires cooling off...I just do a nice smokey burnout and go directly to the line...

Anyway, to get the most our of your suspension you really need adjustability with the parts...From the list of stuff you have I'd look into a poly TA bushing, unless you have that already and stay with the 16" wheels for the taller sidewall...

Other than that I'd do a revamp of parts to go with adjustable lcas, PHB, TA and then look into good adj shocks too...I learned tons last year about the significance of being able to adjust everything to get good traction and consistent launches...A suspension tune is equally as important as a high hp motor set up...

If you are serious about racing Id look at the QA1s, Strange, or if you have $$$ Afcos...I run the QA1 R series single adjustable fronts with 275 lb springs and QA1 12 ways in the rear with stock springs...I have heard no good things about racing with the KYBs other than they are inexpensive...

My car is a street car that I drive to work 100 miles round trip when the weather is nice and the QA1s can be adjusted for a nice street ride and then set up for the track...Again, adjustability for the track is paramount in having a consistent launching car...I floundered around for almost 20 years of racing before really looking seriously at all aspects of suspensions...I went from a very inconsistent car to one that will almost drive itself out of the hole...

I have AGX's inthe front. They work but if your going to buy a shock I'd look into QA1 or Strange. ABA383 is correct about the importance of suspension adjustability. I learned that last year when I couldn't figure out why lower HP cars were going .5 - 1.0 second faster than me! I bought KYB's only because I was installing new springs and the rusty bolt on the stock shock had rotted so bad I had to cut it off. KYB's were close and in stock! I plan on switching to strange ASAP. With KYB's the adjustabilty goes both ways. The soft setting is equal on the compression and the rebound not like the QA1 or Strange.
