I paid 1200.00 for the rears new, not cheap, the guy who had them done had 1400 in them total. They were beadlocked by OMF in California but there are a lof of other places that do beadlock conversions, reds, champion, sheppard etc. Weld sells wheels already beadlocked also but they are like 900 each for a 10" double beadlock wheel.

I dont remember what the front wheels were, I bought them when they first came out and they were 240 each or something.

Did you have the 1.75 or 2.25 backspace fronts on yours?

I have the 2.25s but may swap to the 1.75s, they look a little too much in the wheelwell but it may be that I'm used to seeing the car with the LS Bogarts that they were maybe 1.5" BS if that so it looks weird to me.

Very, very nice Kevin. I hope the new diff/ta fits. It would be a great comparison between a fixed/nonfixed IC ta.

The moser xmember wont fit, I'll have to make something over the winter if I want to go that route.

But the moser TA isnt fixed, if you mean fixed as in it doesnt slide.

The TA mount I have is adjustable in the front for height but since it slides, moving it up and down you are not changing IC.

My rough way of lookig at it:

Moser/Madman slides without an arc and you can set/ change IC.

RT/Spohn,etc arc and don't let you set the IC.

RT vs Moser in your car would be interesting. Especially with you tuning the suspension.

Not following you exactly, the Moser slides in the tube and the RT slides in a plastic bushing in pretty much the same place, neither pushes forward on the crossmember. Thats kind of the same thing no? I can move the front mount up and down on the BMR crossmember, doesnt do a thing for me except change the pinion angle, I've tried it at both extremes.

I doubt either way I'm going to best 1.25 60's by much with the same amount of power. Main reason I'd like to switch to the M9 is to save about 40lbs over what I have, plus I dont think anyone else has ever gone in the 8s on a RT arm with a poly bushing in the front and I'm a little paranoid about something failing, even though it seems to work just fine and still looks like new after three years of beating. I'm sure the poly bushing takes some of the shock off the rest of the TA hardware, and the arm itself, on a launch.

my spohn must be diifferent compared to a RT. As the ta moves, the front mount is a bracket that slightly moves the ta up/down through an arc. Madman/MOSER only moves in/out of a tube and can't go up or down.......supposedly allowing a fixed IC depending on the end location in the bracket. Myth?

IC can only be changed if the front of the torque arm is solid mounted by moving it up and down, like a ladder bar or a 3 link. But the 'swinging link' type may introduce some IC change by moving it up and down since it will push forward on the crossmember somewhat throughout its travel, maybe. Mine doesnt have a link, its just like a stock torque arm bushing except it has a round hole and the torque arm has a round tube on the end that slides in it. So its no different then what moser does, except they slide a rod end into a tube, either way the torque arm doesnt ever push the crossmember forward like a ladder bar would.

At least thats how I understood it all to work

Here is a calculator for IC on a torque arm car, only thing they ask about the the torque arm is the length itself (which does change IC some), not the height. The lower control arm heights are the the main thing.

http://home.earthlink.net/~whshope/id28.html

I forget the guys name that wrote it but I read a very good book on torque arm suspensions years ago. It was more road race oriented than drag race but it laid out exactly how they work and what changes what as far as dive under braking and anti squat under power. For the most part though he mentioned many times that a torque arm is NOT a three link or ladder bar and the height of the front TA mounting point doesnt change anything in respect to IC.

Give you something to think about anyhow

This book?

http://www.amazon.com/Race-Car-Vehic...0161043&sr=8-2

Also, the adjustable link that is added in the front essentially acts like a 4 bar mechanism. I guess i'll have to doodle something up so it makes sense.

Not sure if thats the book unless I can see inside of it.

If you read and understand the first post here then you will understand what I'm saying:

Mine are 1.75" BS. The Strange brakes moved the wheels in compared to the stock brakes.
