Default i need help on dropping my 1/4 time

well 3yrs ago i bought my 2000 ss conv bone stock and took it to the track about 4 times now within the last 2 yrs and my best time with street tires was 13.5@103. its starting to be more of a weekend car for me so my goal eventually is at least low 12's i have about 2,000 to spend and i dont want to use nitrous. thanks for any suggestions.

Gut it, fiberglass as much as you can hood fenders and so on. Put the car on a jenny craig diet. Just remember less is more.

Just remember safety first though. The faster you go the faster you need to be able to stop. Most people forget that. If it's "Bling" get rid of it.

100lbs= 1 tenth increase in time.

Good luck!

You can get 12s w/headers, exhaust, cai and good tires. Getting used stuff, you SHOULD be able to score that for about...$300, $300, $75 and maybe another 200. So, for ABOUT $900. Good luck

Auto or 6 spd?

Auto, You can run low 12s with a stall, gears, headers, lid and a tune.....

6 spd, well they are quite easy(was for me) to hit low 12's on headers/slicks gears but you will most likely grenade the rear pretty fast! so be aware, that almost 3 grand will be gone instantly if you need a rear 9"/12 bolt....
