Default Am I going to need rim screws?

Right now I'm having a hard time getting my car to leave hard, 60' times have been in the 1.6's despite having plenty of power and traction, due to (I believe) an overly tight convertor.

Anyway, even with my shitty 60' times I managed to move the tire on the rim about an inch (ET drags on MT rims). Will I need to put rim screws in or is a certain amount of movement "OK"? I'm hoping to get the short times down in the 1.4's once the convertor is right.

Scre them, just make sure when you do it, get moroso screws, they're a touch shorter and will puncture thru the tire a little less, use them and silicone in the holes and they should't leak too bad. They're gonna leak some no matter what so be ready for that, but that will help them leak less.

Any movement on the rim is bad.

I hated drilling 16 hoels per rim on my bogarts too, but it has to be done.

It's either that or beadlocks, but that's about 500 a rim to have done, or if you want to buy them, it's well, 500 more per rim.

Are there any drawbacks to putting the screws on the backside of the wheels?

How much worse do they leak? I street drive the car alot, don't wanna be losing air by the minute. As I understand it, the screws don't fully penetrate the bead, just the tips go into the bead. Can I just buy some screws at the hardware store?

you want a good grade screw, I wouldn't trust any old screw from the hardware store.

I know if I air my tires up to about 20 psi, and set te car sit for a week, I will go outside and it will just about be on the rims.

I run 8 in front and 8 in back. If you are worried about leaking and you are running ET Drags, run tubes.
