Question high mileage owners.

so ive been itching to flog my car down the strip just to see how slow it is, plus it looks like alot of fun. only thing is, its got 170xxx on the clock. drives just fine, no problems whatsoever(knock on wood), i have fluids changed usually 500 miles before next scheduled date/mileage scheduled.

anyone else flog their high mileage f-body down the 1/4 mile strip?

I flogged a 150k down the track countless times.... sometimes with a 150 shot. Never had any real problems.

Only thing I'd worry about is the trans if its an auto. And then only after hotlapping it.

146,000 miles and still got 50+ runs this season bracket racing. Give a good checkout for anything old (close to breaking), and go for it!

Mine had 170K when I took it to the track. It ran 13.3 @105 IIRC. But I only took it to the track twice before I started modding it.

wow, this puts my mind a little bit more at ease regarding me taking it down the strip.

ryan k-i assume u were stock at 170k?

suzookiegsxr-pardon my ignorance. what is "hotlapping"? heard the term, just not the definition.

thank you.

Hot lapping is when you make a run then get right back in line to make another one no waiting in between for the car to cool off or anything. Also when i had my old engine with 154,000 i brought it to the track ran a 13.1 at 107.

147k and put a MS3 with heads on. Everything is built other than the stock rotating internals. i wouldn't worry about the motor too much. On stock configuration, they can be thrown a pretty bad beating and still go forever. Alot of my 147k was driven really damn hard, although I,ve been through 3 t56s and 2 10bolts
