No update yet. I guess my car is buried behind a bunch of Turbo cars that need to be ready to go out. Louis will get it done as soon as he can. I'm sure the results will be worth the wait.

I guess you shipped the car down here for them to work on? What are your plans for when to pick it up? When you are here, lets set something up. I would like to see what it does against my relic.

I gave up man, I'll just sit back and wait. The shop is so busy, Louis is working hard to get the turbo cars out, ALMS is about to start up. Louis is the man but how much can one person do. I'm just sitting hear being patient, I know Louis will take care of me. I am sure the results will make the wait well worth it.

I had my new motor in 2 weeks ago and I'm still waiting to get my car back.
Good shops always stay backlogged.

+1 bro ^^^^
LGM is very busy, and with ALMS about to start they are very busy testing and getting the race car ready. Like previously mentioned, Louis is a work aholic, and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he just said F' it and worked until midnight to get everything done. Then he'd log into tech and post up and/or shoot me a pm/email. Louis is good, but like I said how much can one guy do. That's why I am being patient. I called the shop a few times, and when Louis had time, he did everything to my car all in one day. The problem is finding the time.

I would strongly suggest that if you did a very similar combo to me that you make one change. If you were going to use AFR 205's, send them off to Tony Mamo and let him work his magic on them before they are installed. Claims are made that post porting by Tony makes them flow almost as well as the 225's but without sacrificing port velocity of the air/fuel mixture. I didn't do it because I simply was out of discretionary cash. If I had the extra money I'd have let him do it, and I probably would've done a couple other things as well. With that being said though, I am very happy with the results LG Motorsports was able to get out of this motor considering they had a tight budget and reused almost everything off the old 346. Now I am truly looking forward to driving it for the first time !!!!!!

Just to remind everyone though, this build was for power under the curve, stock like drivability, and reliability. By no means was it a max effort build, unless you are talking about making MAX torque. I think LGM accomplished that for me. Also being that its a forged motor there are options when I have more money. No speculation please unless you are sending donations. LOL

Anyone seen the new lg super pros ?? They are an all new design, new merge collector, and are now 1 7/8 !! I think they are aimed at people with 427 ci's or more. Still would like to see what they do for my 402, too bad I am out of cash. Any opinions ??
A 2009 c6z with with the new 1 7/8 lg super pros, k&n, and a tune picked up 66 rwhp 63 rwtq over stock. That's pretty amazing. I think my motor could probably get 12-15 more rwhp. That would kick ***. Come on OT, daddy needs a new set of headers. LOL.

Nice #'s man but maybe someone can answer a question for me? I am wanting to build a 402-408ci out of a Iron 6.0L. I see that you used the AFR 205cnc ported heads for your build. I wanted to use my Trick flow 215cnc ported heads for my new motor but people keep telling me my heads are to small for a motor that size. How can people use the AFR 205cnc heads and make nice gains out of them but I can't use my trick flow 215cnc heads? Sorry for the thread hi jack I just have to have this question answered.. Thanks man..

Back to your question about the 215's being too small. They are not too small at all. With that being said you are sacrificing a small amount of peak power but you are making a ton of TORQUE down low that should more then compensate. Also known as power under the curve. What are peak numbers, if you don't have any low end grunt. My graph (402 vs 346 overlay) is on here somewhere. At 4000 rpms the 402 made 60 more rwhp and 75 more rwtq (memory is bad, I might be off a bit) then my 346 did with all the same stuff. If you look at the graph closely you'll see the 402 is running out of steam up top (6300 and up) and the 346 is still pulling. But who cares, the power under the curve difference would put the 402 so far ahead of the 346 in a race that the fall off up top doesn't even come into consideration. JMO.
I say use your TFS 215's. I'd bet that they would've given my combo a few more rwhp, and a few less torque. Seems like a lot of big port size heads 225 and up are making better PEAK numbers but at the cost of low end torque. So you have to ask yourself, do you want PEAK numbers to brag about, or more usable power that will surprise most people that have higher peak numbers ??
I'd love to see my combo do back to back to back comparisons of 205, 215, 225, 235, and 245 heads so it would illustrate what has been discussed. As the port size goes up, the PEAK hp goes up, but at the same time it seems (in most cases) the low end and peak torque numbers drop.
