Default H/C/I/ Stalled A4 #'s. Low?

I just got my car tuned today by Ed Wright. He took his time and did a great job with it but it still seemed a little down on power. It made 398 HP unlocked but through a big stall. Mods in sig. I only ran one locked run, just to see the efficiency of the converter and it made 412 but that was on the same baseline tune of 388 HP, so I'd imagine the same 10 HP gain on the final tune for locked to get it to 422 HP. Air/Fuel was rock steady at around 13. We ran it about 10 times and ended up with a slightly richer tune with less timing than the best run but only lost about 2 hp to be safer.

I know A4s dyno numbers don't mean a whole lot, but I thought I'd get a little more out of it. The torque was pretty low. I can't really remember what it was to be honest because the graph doesn't show it, only HP and Air/Fuel.

The HP curve was ridiculously flat though. There aren't RPMs, just MPH to look at, but I don't want to go find a calculator to figure it out. From 80 mph to 126 (6800 RPM cut off) it goes from probably 390-398 at a very slow incline. Sorry, no scanner for pics.

Does this sound normal, or low? Heads are milled. Compression should be about 11.9:1. Cam is 227/235 .614/.621 112 lsa. Taking it to the track this Friday. I guess that'll be the true test.

stalled autos are not dyno queens. my 224 cammed and unported ls6 heads combo made 383/372tq locked. track times are what will determine the power of your stalled auto

Stalled autos will normally be 40 rwhp or more down compared to a 6 speed when they're unlocked. Funny thing is, they usually ET better than the 6 speeds. Your numbers actually sound good. Ed is a very skilled tuner. You will probably ET well into the 11s with that kind of power.

Your numbers are abnormally high actually my car didn't break 400rwhp with a MS3 and ETP 5.3 heads but it ran mid 11s full weight. Take it to the track and then decide weather or not you care about those numbers

Assuming you hook, I would agree. Definitely a solid car for 11's. I'd be happy! Please do post results from track asap. Is it a 1/4, or 1/8 track?

Number look normal to me considering the drivetrain and the heads/cam you went with. That car will be low 11s all day long if you can hook, possibly high 10s at a decent track/decent weather.

It'll be at a 1/4 mile track (MOKAN, it's not very well prepped) and I probably won't hook well. I'm still running Nittos on 17's. My car is a pig and I'm about 225 lbs so my motor will have it's work cut out for her. The best I did before was a 1.71, but most of the time it is closer to the 1.9 range. I've only had about 4 passes on this converter and am trying to find a good launch RPM. I'm a little bit relieved that most of you think that they are fairly normal numbers. I'll post up track times after Friday if weather allows some passes. Regardless of 60 ft, I want to see an improvement on my old 113 mph, because that'll tell me what I could be capable of if I had some drag wheels and M/Ts.

Here's my mods

Patriot Stage 2 heads milled to 64cc
Cam specs: .234-.238 .646-.613 on a 111lsa
Un-ported F.A.S.T. 90 Manifold
Nick Williams 90mm TB
Hooker Longtubes
Hooker ORY
Ported Descreened SLP 85mm MAF
SLP Lid w/ smooth bellows
Free mods
SMi built 4k stall w/ cooler
3.23s

Im probably forgetting some other stuff but I made 440 rwhp @ 417 rwtq locked. I was thinking about milling my heads some more to bump my compression. Im going to chop my exhaust off and weld some turn downs off the longtubes. I was thinking about porting my manifold to see if I could hit the 450-460. I know it's a long shot from hell but worth a try. Im sure you'll do excellent at the track.

Your numbers are fine. You should run mid to high 11s @ 115-118 mph, but if you end up running 12.4s @ 111, then worry. Dyno numbers does give an indication, but don't get caught up on it. Save the bench/dyno racing for those that brag on dyno numbers and never sees a 1/4 track.

Dont be bothered by those numbers, I dynoed 333rwhp cam only with an A4 ran 11's all day long in any weather. The dyno is a tuning tool. My car now is around 450rwhp with a 230 am and cheap heads and I roast Cobras and LSX strokers at the track weekly. Put a sticky tire on it and go to the track!
