Dyno graph, Thunder Solid Roller

All numbers are through a Moser 12-bolt with 4.56 gears, 17" 5-spoke Speedlines with 275 Nitto DR's on them, a Denny's NR steel driveshaft, and with a short belt (I've got a manual rack).
When last I saw her, she put down 439/391 on Thunder's dyno (and 434/389 on LG's dyno in identical trim, for comparison
). Anyhow. We decided that wasn't enough, so Thunder had a new cam ground, some bullet mufflers instead of the Y/cutout, and we bolted on an electric water pump. The new results: 458 Hp, 410 Tq.

The previous cam was a 243.5/243.5 .646/.646 114 +4, to be exact.
The new cam is a 250/244 .646/.646 109 +6, or close to it.
So, we added 6 degrees of intake duration, left the exhaust about the same, and move the valve events around. I have yet to hear the motor (I pick it up this weekend right before the Shootout), but Geoff said it lopes "pretty hard".
Especially since the exhaust has been removed for dual bullets. We had planned to put new heads on, but ran in to issues with the new heads (p-to-v and compression ratio). So, we're running the same heads as before. Honestly, this set of heads isn't the bestest baddest set that have ever been done (we know that there are some issues with this particular set), but they do the trick.
They're GTP LS6. Some here may remember Jason's SR 346 that he ran to a 10.59 @ 128 with. Looks like mine has very similar characteristics. I'm VERY excited about that.
I'm hoping Jason can teach me a few 6-speed tricks to shifting while we're at the Shootout. I've got a freshly rebuilt 6-speed ready to go in the car before this weekend. Let's see what happens.
This is the Jason vs Andrew dyno graph...
I'm happy with the numbers, and I am REALLY looking forward to this weekend at the Shootout. Hopefully I can drive the car to some mid 11's, while Jason can hit some 10's with it. :p
To Thunder Racing. They've been absolutely great through all of this, and have REALLY gone out of their way to make me happy.
I would DEFINITELY choose them again for my next build up. Now, Paul, get me an LSx Intake!

Oh, to be like this dude, he never misses a gear... ->
I can't wait to see it run this weekend.
Maybe I could get a shot at running some 10's in your Hot Rod.
I used to be able to drive a 6-speed.
See ya this weekend.
Coach
Can you give the details of your shortblock? Crank? Rods? Pistons?
Thanks

Coach, if your shiftin' arm is feeling up to it, let me know when you're ready to take the keys.

As for the bottom end, it's a stock crank, Lunati ProMod rods, and Diamond pistons. ARP main and head studs, Katech oil pump, Jwis chain & Cloyes gears. The top end has T&D 1.7 rockers, 3/8" 7.4" pushrods, and some fat springs and trick retainers. Crane solid lifters. More ramblings in the pages linked to my sig.

Look for the white T/A smokin the ss/m class
the other question is, will it be great in the street as more than 1/4 mile race.
Thanks

Always good to meet folks. As for Nittos...
Those are my 'junker wheels'. I'd never run them. Those things are 5 years old and bald. I normally roll on Bogarts, and have 28" ET Drags for the strip.
KR is disabled in the PCM. So it's not knock retard, but it may very well be a tuning issue of some sort - too much, or not enough, spark advance. It's definitely one of the spots I want to investigate, I noticed it too.
Bullet mufflers are simply small mufflers. Check this out:

I don't think that's the exact model we used, but it'll give you an idea of what they look like. My headers are ball flanged, so coming off the end of the header is a ball flange adapter, the bullet muffler, and a turndown. It's probably about 3 feet long total, each side. Cheap and light.
And as for on the street... If you like sideways in 4th, yeah, it's great (my street tires suck, and I don't street race).
Nice to hit 7000+ in the morning getting on the freeway tho.

No, I'm roughing it Andrew style. I'm at the Gonzales Best Western.
I roll out tomorrow morning, will be at Thunder mid-late tomorrow afternoon, construction on I10 permitting... Will be at Thunder most of Friday also, I think. We still have some work to do on the car (quickie tranny swap, and I've got the tranny with me). -Andrew
