Jeff,
Awesome, thanks for the post. Your friend's photos are always impressive!

We always give the SC guys hell about dropping belts. However, they do run them like that on occasion & tend to do a heck of a job extracting whatever potential exists within a particular combination. It is cheaper and easier than gaining those last few #'s with an electric water pump.

If I recall correctly it was in the ~47Xrwhp range with the MAF, but having an issue with the sensor.

Without the FAST, using a GM manifold & MAF it was at 45Xrwhp SAE. The typical gain from an as-cast 243 to our 226cc program is going to be 40-50hp. Success is in the details.

Thanks Guys!

I hear you! Definitely moving up with the new project! I love those GTO's, but it doesn't get much better than a C6 Z06.

Some guys will literally remove the accessory belt for a pass or pull on the dyno. Sometimes it helps, in some instances it hurts. Reasons for doing so are varied. For instance Jeff & a few others have no desire to run electric water pumps, cutouts, etc. to gain the last few #'s. In that case, they just drop the belt for a few moments. We certainly wouldn't recommend it unless you understand the possible consequences & have accurate temp data etc.

As far as small port cathedral heads go, we have programs for the 241's, 243's, & Dart 205's. Shortly we'll wrap up programming for 5.3's & some TFS 13.5deg based offerings.

take the serpentine belt off so theres no drag on the crank turning all the accessory pullies...its good for a few ponies. You just better have a fully charged battery! When every 1/10 counts at the strip...we'll do anything. I know a guy who took the side mirrors off once...cough...

For those that want to know a little more info, here's some background on the car. This car is a daily driver with excellent street manners. I have driven it over 4 hrs to various tracks just to race and cruised home in comfort. I attribute a lot of that to my own tuning (in addition to some carefully selected parts) as I have spent many hours on part throttle tuning to get the driveability near perfect. With the Magnaflow exhaust, it is relatively quiet inside the car. Full list of mods is as follows:

-Advanced Induction CNC ported 243 cylinder heads with stock valves, Cometic .040" MLS gaskets
-Flowtech Induction "Tiger Shark" camshaft, Flowtech "Gen IV" springs, titanium retainers, Manley hardened pushrods 7.375", Cadillac CTS-V lifters (fly cut pistons for clearance)
-45# injectors
-Yank SS3600 torque converter with B&M Supercooler 70264
-Kook's 1 7/8 long tube headers with off road mid pipes
-FAST 90mm intake manifold (ported)
-Magnaflow catback exhaust
-ASP underdrive crank pulley
-K&N cold air intake
-3.91 gears
-Dyno tuned by myself at JR Racing Performance Tuning
-Pedders 5/16" lift rear drag springs
-Air Lift #60759 air bags
-ARP wheel studs (rear)
-Weld Pro Star wheels (track): 15x3.5" front, 1.75" bs, 5x4.75" bolt pattern with Monarch 165/15 tires; 15x8" rear, 5.5" bs, 5x4.75" bolt pattern with 26x10-15 Hoosier Drag slicks
-Beyern Type 5 wheels (street): 18x8.5" front, 40mm offset, with BFG G-force sport 245/40/18 tires; 18x9.5" rear, 45mm offset, with BFG G-force sport 275/35/18 tires
-Rolled rear fenders with the Eastwood Fender Roller (tires would hit the fender on large bumps even with the Pedders springs)

And now for the dyno graph. To back up the dyno #'s let me say that my best eighth mile trap speed prior to the AI heads was 91.5 MPH (on a 7.46 ET, 1.62 60'). After the AI heads, and in similar density altitude, the car went 7.14 @ 98.6 MPH on a 1.57 60'. That's over 7 mph I picked up with the AI cylinder heads! It's also a lot of MPH for a car as heavy as the GTO. I couldn't be happier with my decision to go with AI! The gains exceeded my expectations and was nothing short of remarkable. Feel free to PM me for any more info, etc.

timeslip:

Just to back it up:

And some pics...

I'm Impressed especially with an A4

Congratulation

By the way, the car with the trim and the paint looks very sexy and very cool...
