I've only used non stock rockers in either very crazy hydraulic roller setups or solid roller setups. It all comes down to properly sorted valvetrain geometry... I have a setup that works perfectly with TFS heads. As a matter of fact, I have a TFS headed 416 making nearly 560 to the wheels with an LSK lobed cam and stock rockers... still going strong a year later and no smoke on startup... As a matter of fact, once properly setup the valvetrain geometry I've seen with these TFS setups is virtually the same as stock. Its no big secret, you shim the rockers to compensate for the rolled valve angle. I've got many ET setups out there as well all running stock rockers with 11* valve angles.

So basically you are putting a washer underneath the rocker where it bolts to the head? Thats pretty cool that the stockers can work, considering all of the sponsors state the need for $500 rockers on top of the $2400 heads. Have you guys done any combos with the 220cc as cast heads? There are a couple of good deals out there right now on this package that include rockers, even though imho if stockers will work thats cool, i have yet to see concrete evidence that HS, or YT rollers are the way to go. Just wondering how these would work on a stock bottom end with some extra cleanup work done on them by a head porter who knows what they are doing.

You could use washers, I am using a $15 set of T&D shims for stability. I also use a custom set of Manton pushrods although neither of these is absoloutely necessary. The valvetrain geometery can be reconciled regardless of whether or not it is a CNC head or an as cast head. I can help you work out the proper geometry in either case. In my experience, aftermarket stud mount rockers only introduce problems into the equation...

hope you meant 560rwhp...TFS headed 416 makin 460 is weak sauce. Mantons pushrods are the heat!....did you go larger Diameter or just custom length...when i ordered mine he had them in the mail 2 hours later after making them...2 different lengths for me...He initially let me try a 11/32 and 3/8 to see what would fit then after i figured that out i checked length and placed my order...super nice guy and very knowledgeable!
My bad, it was 557 to be exact w/9" and 4.57 gears. We use Manton 3/8" .083 wall normally 7.625" works perfectly with LS7 lifters and a .620-.650 lift cam depending on how much the heads have been milled. And you're right, Manton is the $hit!!! I usually have custom pushrods from CA to LA in 4-5 days without expedited shipping. Thanks,
