Great numbers! The LT1 is capable of making great power with the right parts. AI heads are stellar

I like the AI heads ALOT!

This was the last pull this evening. It was pretty well heat soaked. It pulled a bunch of timing. That's the reason for for the step in the graph lines. We'll do a couple hero pulls in the AM.

great numbers for LT1. are the heads the AI CNC 200cc GM LT1 heads? what are the cam specs? compression? other mods...etc?

thanks.

Stock ported LT1 heads and a HR cam 396 = 471rwhp WHEN YOU USE THE RIGHT PARTS AND PEOPLE FOR A SETUP.

Good job on the numbers.

Thats pretty much the same setup mine has.
same intake same size cam. but mines a 383. What do the heads flow at .600 lift? I am guessin this is a stock computer?

Yes on the computer. Don't know the flow numbers. Maybe AI will chime in.

Skilled/experienced labor is just as important as the quality of the individual components. Unfortunately, many 'save money' in those areas. When the setup simply runs to its potential it is often labeled an anomaly.

That is a slightly older version of the 200cc head from ~2.5 years ago. Probably 27Xcfm, but please understand that flow #'s are neither directly indicative of power potential, nor are they comparable. Meaning, it is futile to attempt to correlate X hp with X cfm to the exclusion of every other variable in the inlet tract. Much less every other variable in the engine, tuning, drivetrain, etc.

From the man himself My heads are Trickflows. Got the same size cam. This car is probably a 6 spd like mine judging by the numbers.
This makes me wanna send my heads to you even more.
And let the OP take a crack at tuning my car. I know more cubes = more torque but I wanna squeeze some good solid numbers out of my 383 and keep it a Hyd roller.

Hey ED we never found out what compression this car is running?

11.6:1.

BTW, there's alot to be said for a good LT tune. A GOOD tune on one of these things takes alot longer than an LS tune does. The software is not near as user friendly. VE tuning is pretty painful to get right. I've set a bunch of these things up to run SD instead of MAF. But, like I say it's painful.

Wish you were closer. I heard Moe Bailey is also pretty badass on LTX tuning like you and he is 3 hrs from me . Do you know of him? By the way, when you were talking about tuning not on MAF but SD, What is SD? When you say painful do you mean money $$$$ or is it just a pain in the *** and someone needs to know exactly what they are doing?

Thanks

Don't know Moe Bailey.

SD is speed density. It's a pain in that the software is antiquated. It takes a long time to transpose the numbers from a run log to the tune, flash ,and repeat. If done correctly, it takes longer than an LS tune, and should cost more.
