Thumbs up New dyno numbers for the 383 (Graph added!!!)

well, I finally got my new 5.7 heads installed along with the meziere EWP, Yella Terras, #42 injectors and a Walboro fuel pump.

my previous best after my mosher install was 443rwhp/435rwtq

new results 473/462.

No short belt or aluminum flywheel and running 28" slicks on the dyno with an air filter.

what's more impressive though is the power curve. it makes 400rwtq at just 3100rpms and 460rwhp from 5600 to 6600.

you may look at peak numbers and not think I make much more than a stout H/C car, but if you get a chance to see the graphs overlayed you'll definately see a BIG difference

HUGE thanks to Mark at Raging Motorsports for putting in the extra hours to get it done!!!

FINALLY after this project car started almost 5 years ago, everything seems to be lined out with my car. Shooting for 10.80's @ 126 NA in KC weather. guessing 1200 DA at the track tomorrow with around a 3400 raceweight.


EDIT:
almost identical setups. RMS forged 346 vs 383, both RMS 5.7 heads, Dynatech longtubes, EWP and so on... sorry it took so long!!!

Cylinder Head Specialties did the heads. Installed by RMS. the cam is a 236/232 .602 .575 112lsa Comp XE-R grind.

the cam had been in there about a year, but I'm thinking I may need to get a little bigger or go SR.


this car is turning into a weekend play toy and close to pure strip, especially since I travel 5 days a week for work

kinda funny that a year ago the cam was sized well compared to 346 cams. now there are 346's running a cam this size or much larger

Nice numbers! 10.80 should be a cinch. I am going 11.0s with 400/439. Mainly depends on your short times.

they were ported but they werent a sponsers (or really a recognized) porter at all. in fact, they were ported years ago. sorry for speaking for 383ss, but i just know his car well.

Gator is right. they were hand ported about 4 years ago by a local shop. it was the 1st set of ls1 heads they had ever done.
