Default COMP Lsr Cams

I was trying to do some research on the newer lsr lobes and dig some results up. I couldn't find anything on these cams. If anyone has some info could you share it?

In particular i was looking at the LSR™, 277LR HR12 Good Street/Strip Camshaft w/ Wide Range.Cam specs are LCA 113 IC 109 dur at .050 lift 227/235 valve lift .614/.621. Does anyone know how streetable this cam is and would it be a good choice for a power under the curve cam?

Were splitting hairs here, but LSR is the name of a series of cams that use LSL lobes from what I understand.

I have an LSR cam and love it. Its the most aggressive lobe Comp has in their catalog. Its almost like and LSK lobe with less lift.

from .006>.050 XE-R is more agressive. Variance of LSL is 50 while XER variance is 49.

IIRC, this is the cam we installed in a friend's 05 GTO A4. it is very streetable and very smooth idle. though we have not dyno'd it, it feels very strong throughout. as a matter of fact, he smokes the tires from a roll easily. hope this helps.

I've had extremely good luck with the LSr cams and with LSL lobed custom cams as well. You will not be dissappointed...

They do seem to idle better and have good drivability over XER Cams.

you are welcome!
actually, i know for a fact he will be changing cams soon, since he had one spec'd for his new stroker. and he will be trying it in the current setup first. maybe he can cut a deal.

if you decide to buy heads, which ones will go with?

Running a rather large LSL (LSR) lobe cam at the moment and love it. Alot of midrange torque and excellent drivability. Tuner said it was very nice to tune.

are these lobes even more aggressive than the lsk? or do they fall in between the xe-r and lsk?

They are nearly identical to the LSK's but with less lift. The seat timing is identical. The X-ER lobes are actually more aggressive off the seat. All in all, the LSL lobes are an evoloution of the LSK for increased durablilty. They are much more forgiving IF you go into valve float. Float the valves with LSK's and you'll be shopping for all kinds of goodies fairly quickly...

They have a huge base circle and are very slow off the seat but ramp super fast after. Oh, forgot to mention...........alot quieter valve train on the LSL also.
