Here are two runs showing the MAP (in.hg.) difference.

Stock LS6 intake and TB,--- Oval Intake and TB

RPM --+-- MAP ----+----- RPM --+-- MAP --
2976------29.8 -----------2976 -----29.8 ---
3508------29.8 -----------3490 -----29.8 ---
4046------29.5 -----------4046 -----29.5 ---
4604------29.2 -----------4601 -----29.5 ---
5226------29.2 -----------5193 -----29.2 ---
5806------28.9 -----------5781 -----29.2 ---
6354------28.9 -----------6358 -----29.2 ---
6851------28.6 -----------6862 -----28.9 ---

The sampling rate is slow with the 20 items I was logging at the time and the samples are not at the exact RPMs, but a trend can be seen.

Well if you have a top end and headers that flow as well as LG's it probably makes more difference...

Above 4600, that's it. LOL

From 2900 to 3500 RPM there is no MAP difference between the two intakes/TBs in our test and we have 29.8 in.hg. In order to have about a 15 hp difference between the two intakes from 2900 to 3500 RPM we would need a MAP of about 31.3 in.hg for the Oval vs. 29.8 in.hg. for the stock intake.

It's our 224-228 cam, with the stage 3X we also gained about 6 hp and it has a much different and larger cam.

Well we got to try one on a C5R 427. Picked up 15rwhp and 10rwtq peak. Gains started at 3800rpm and picked up more and more as the RPMs climbed. Really wanting to see what it does on some of the heads/cam cars here. Also wonder if the the X3 spec will get greater gains due to it being a larger cam than the 224/228 grind?

At least one thing is for sure, it really does make more power...unlike that Holley intake.

Roger and David make excellent points. I had a M6 2000SS and installed a F1 cam in it (stock heads) and I felt car was NOT putting out the power it should. So with JUST the change to an LS6 manifold car picked up 16HP so it was readily apparent that the LS1 manilfold was restricting the air flow. Had I had just a STOCK cammed car though, I my have seen only a 5-7 HP increase. For this same reasom most people I know running 80MM throttle bodies DO NOT pick up any additional power over a stock throttle body because the stock one unless you have a heads and cam car GENERALLY IS NOT the restriction.
