Baby EPS cam lays down 430rwhp/415rwtq with track results!

Wow, that original wye pipe connection was just terrible. Almost like a "T" the way it was coming in from the side. The one that he put on is mucho better. You picked up some power from that alone.

Nice results James, to bad all the snow kept you from hitting the Track on Friday/ Saturday and Sunday. Hopefully it will clear up this weekend. Might have to be adding a cage to your Christmas list so HRP won't ban you.
I like the way the exhaust turned out. It is amazing how it changes the tune of the car, and actually makes it quieter.
Still pretty funny that the wife didn't even realize that there was a cam in car, until you let it slip. But that is what you wanted a quite car that still made good power.
I'm surprised it made that much power. I would have expected a little over 400 but. Looks like you got a good combo just like Patrick said.

James' wife does not know that the car has a hotter cam in it, LOL. Of course, Sheila surfs LS1 Tech so the cat is probably out of the bag by now.

I always wanted to build a stealth and powerful combo like this one and I had set my mind on the AFR 224/228 cam. I might look into this one now. I wonder how it would do with AFR heads.

We picked up a new LS6 longblock from SDPC for my wifes daily driven 2000 Camaro SS. It's a mild street car that will be raced pretty hard, but we did not want to give up any drivabity period. After speaking with Kurt Decker and PatrickG we opt to do a mild cam swap before installing the engine. Geoff @ EPS and PatrickG got us set up with a new custom EPS cam, springs and PRs. They spec'd us out out a 222/226 115LSA with the new EPS lobes. Geoff gave us a heck of a deal and you could not ask for better customer service. I would highly recommend him if you are in the market for a custom cam.
and how much does that cam cost?
thanks.

You can contact Geoff at EPS http://www.engpwrsys.com/ or PM Patrick G and they can hook you up.
Yeah my wife is in the loop now.lol. She was pleasantly surprised once she drove the car and felt the new found power, especially after she realised how nice the driving manners were.

James,
Glad I could be part of helping you with your project. It definitely seems that these new lobes are letting us do 'more with less' as far as cam size is concerned. I have had a couple of other customers also have very stout numbers with these lobes in a 'baby' cam.

well when you consider you can't make over 400rwhp with cam only on an auto
AMAZING results.....its sickening me to think how big cams had to be 5 or 6 yrs ago to make that kind of power.

Well we made it to the track. I'll have to make a new thread because everyone loves ET vs dyno number comparisons. I think I can knock off another tenth and a half with better air and my normal tweaks, but this was in normal street trim besides the cut-out being open.
I have to send another big thanks out to Partrick G, Kurt Decker, Geoff@EPS and Circle D for allowing us to prove a very streetable combo can lay down good numbers and get the job done.
Here is a copy of our 2nd pass before the rain set in. The air gets much better down here in January-March Stay tuned.

Incredible considering all the tweaks you can still make. You will be within roll bar territory in the hottest weather. This means you can keep your shift points low and make everything last assuming you don't want to add a roll bar. Well done. Congrats.

Thanks guys
I didn't get to weigh the car last night, but based on all the crap I had in it and a 1/2 tank of fuel, it should have been heavier than it was at our last race in November which was 3485#s with me in it.
We were hoping to steer away from putting a roll bar in the car, but as Patrick was saying, even in the worst air, it's still going to be running roll bar required ETs or very close to it.

it is impressive for cam only with full weight and it made 11.29 sec. @ 117 mph

Yeah I have had a few requests for an idle clip. The weather has been nasty here lately and the one day it was nice enough to go out to get a video of it, my wife took off with it to go shopping and didn't come back before I had to go to work on nights
I will get one posted soon though.
