I did find one on a GTO board where they got decent gains. Don't know about us LS1 guys:

I ended up going several 11.4x (1.8 60s still) at 126.xx mph once i got it to the track in comparable air with the addition of the tsp maf and ftp lid and a slowhawk tune.

[QUOTE=camz28arro;12982809]Oversizing isn't good either, losing all that incoming air velocity will cost some power. I feel that under 430-440rwhp, the stock maf and regular aftermarket lid will give the same hp as a bigger setup, does anybody know when the 85mm becomes restrictive? I would guess it could support up to 550rwhp. I also heard before that the slp maf would be extremely hard to tune to as good as the stocker.

I have a 85mm truck maf and it ran out of calibration at 6000 rpm on my setup, the intake was also pulling vacum. The tuner felt that the maf was the restriction.

I'm in the mix of changing out my LS6 for a Ported Fast 90/90 combo, GM 85mm MAF and a FTP 98mm Lid. I think I'm going to keep the screen in the 85mm MAF despite seeing some of you have gains w/o them. I worry about something getting sucked in. Peace of mind I guess. I will keep you posted on my results. If any of you other guys get results, post them up!

Laugh all ya want Mr. Jester but after reading horror stories on here about **** getting past the filter and finding a small leaf on my screen, I'd rather play it safe.

So the stocker is 75mm right? Would it help to remove the screens from it? I would put an 85mm truck on if it was worth a gain.

I had a VRX5 and TFS 220's as cast with a 90/90, I am full weight too.

But I currently have a SDPC 416 in my upstairs living room LOL and a set of LPE worked Ls3's

IM SAVING for a FAST 102, and I just ordered a C5R chain. I wont be in til March? so we'll see brotha. Shooting for 550rwhp! or bust. Cam is going to be a 247/259 .625 on both side on a 113. I'll be going SD tune so no more MAFS for me!

^ Holy ****! Nice setup!

Reading through most of this, I think a TSP 100mm MAF and a matching lid will do well with a FAST 102. I'll have to bring the MAF, tubing and lid with me to the tuner though. I don't think I'll be able to road it there without a tune. Just the 102 w/o a tune will be interesting.

Thanks Fellas, we shall see this spring!

I nevere ran the motor at the track because of my 10 bolt and didnt
want to spend 200+ bux on a tow home.
But the highway rollons were alot of FUN, that damn Vrx5 cam turned it on at 4k!RPM I was a fun cam.

Tuners have a hard time tuning those 100mm mafs for some I guess, from what I hear, ask your tuner or tuners before making a move. just my .02
