Default 82 Corvette LS1 6 speed DYNO RESULTS!!!! Got more than I expected

Just wanted to post what I was able to put down on a Dyno jet after my LS1 T56 swap.

Engine is a 2002 LS1 with 135k Miles UNTOUCHED internaly

Bolt ons include
85mm Maf
Custom Intake
18lb flywheel
Melrose Long tube headers
3 inch duel exhaust with X pipe
Flowmaster 44s
Custom Tune

Engine is totally stock still running LS6 intake, stock unported throttle body

I was hoping to get 300Hp and 300Tq with the setup now especally with retaining my AC and all other creature comforts and a IRS rear end

Well I can say I am more than happy with the results

I got 338 HP and 350TQ on the last run, and buy probably would of got more because the warmer the car was getting the more power it was making.

so I was well above my goal of 300/300 and am more than pleased.

I plan to shoot for 450 after a head and cam and underdrive pulley swap

Solid numbers. I'd save some extra $$$ for a backup shortblock before you do the H/C. You're going to be on borrowed time with that high mileage bottom end. Of course the milder the setup, the less risk of spinning a bearing or whatnot.

Very cool. Those cars are fairly easy to get into cost wise, are there kits available for this kind of swap?

it was a 82 crossfire I have a build thread on it in the hybrids forum.

I am not to concerned with the motor it still has the crosshatch in the cylinder walls and things looked clean. it does have a rear main seal leave though thats spraying oil all over my nice clean engine and trans. but the engine is stoute I ran it up to 7k rpm doing a burn out and it did not even phase it.

I do have plans for a 402 forged bottom end. I have also seen plenty do a head and cam swap on motors wiht more milage than mine.

I may just get a long block assembled but for what i want its 7k and I cannot afford that right now

It will last a long time if you stay away from 7K! Those stock rod bolts don't like that **** lol! Glad your happy with your results.

Very nice numbers, that car's gotta be fun as hell! I bet there will be more than one person suprised as you pull away from them in your "Crossfire" vette, haha.

Going to check out the othere thread right now.

I wouldnt worry about the short block until you up the power more, heads or n2o. I had a Silverado 5.3 with 250k miles and it ran just as strong as any sub 100k truck.

Thats great in a 82 Vette that probly had 150rwhp stock.

If you printed out the corrected dyno #'s it would be about 315rwhp.The uncorrected is hard to compare.

yeah I dont know much about the dyno numbers with corrected vs uncorrected not sure what the difference is

and yes to answer the question there is a company called CUSTOM IMAGE CORVETTES that make a complete kit with everything you need for the swap.

Fair enough. I just wanted to point out that even though plenty of guys do high mileage H/C swaps, they don't all last. Some go boom on the dyno, others within a few hundred miles. Others last a long time. I hope you're one of the lucky ones.

well the motor was gone into and looks like a brand new one like I said it even still had the crosshatch on the cylinder walls.

I will be replacing the entire motor at some point just not sure if I want to go with a 383 or a 402 ls2, price is not all that different.

Cool, I have a '80 model, just sits there. Maybe later on I'll put an LS something in it.
But a very nice car you have. You should be tickled.
