Default HPE C5 Z06 w/ 418 LS3

We put this package together for one of our out of state customers. He wanted a GenIV engine with our MegaDeath cam but still wanted to stay within the budget he had. After talking about and changing different combinations, we ended up agreeing on a stroked LS3 block with ported LS3 heads to make some great midrange and top end power.

The large wait between the date on the dyno and this thread is because our customer wanted it to be kept secret for some offroad racing.

The car is a 2001 C5 Z06 w/ the following mods:

HKE 418 LS3 Block
LME Ported LS3 Heads
LS7 Lifters
Yella Terra Rockers
HPE MegaDeath Cam 244/242 .612 .610 112 LSA
Unported L76 Intake w/ Ported Throttle Body
Kooks 1 7/8 Headers w/ 3" Offroad X-Pipe
Callaway Honker CAI
B&B Bullet Exhaust
Nitrous Outlet Plate Kit w/ 150 Jets
Lingenfelter LNC-003 Launch Control/Timing Retard Box

With an N/A tune and 138 degree IAT's (tuned last July mid-day) the car put down 525/485.

The two pulls on this sheet are N/A w/ 6 degrees of timing pulled and one pull on nitrous. Not too bad for having the wrong spec cam in it.

With that heat, its hard to tune anything. Do you have any 1/4 mile reports?
Interesting cam.

torque is weak for a 418ci.

What type of torque do you believe a 418 with LS3 heads, stock intake and 6 degrees of timing pulled should make?

Interesting cam.
That setup only ran on the street so there aren't any times for it.

I could lug it around at 1500 rpm's and not have any problems. I can't say the same though if it was in a stock displacement motor.

That's good to hear. I got a similar sized cam going in my 413.

Ls3 heads need more duration exhaust than intake. That cam is out of spec.
