How much does lower compression affect an NA engine?

Default How much does lower compression affect an NA engine?

Hopefully going to fire the goat up today. Ran out of cash to do the blower, so I'm doing nitrous. Curious what a 9.25:1 370 is going to make with the mods in my sig?

TH400/Stall not going to be a dyno queen until you put a power adder on it. I would guess maybe 390-410 rwhp...just a guess.

I guess I could have worded things a little better. How much power is each compression point worth? 1% per whole point? 2%?

When I get her going I'll take her to the track and compare against my old stock LS2 w/ cam and boltons. I got a 12.2 at 115 w/ a 1.82 60ft with that setup.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect big numbers from that setup on the dyno. It will run OK on the spray, but some compression would help it out. I have heard anywhere from 2-4% more power per compression point. On the high side, that could be as much as 30hp (w/ 11.25:1 CR) on your motor.

I'm running 11.5 on mine, and it's perfectly streetable, even in the summer heat with the air on.

Yea. I did this, on my 383. Went from 243's to 317's and lost @ 2 pts static comp. Drivablity is awesome but the power is down. Went from a Ms4 to a custom blower cam @230ish dur. Lost about 60 rwhp. combined.
But, it still runs great. Full weight and all STOCK sus. it's best before the changes 11.58 @ 118, 11.41 @119 lightened up N/A. Now, N/A best 11.88 @ 114... I can't wait for the boost!
