5.0 vs. LSX and the world! dyno sheet comparisons!
i had my brother overlay dyno sheets of various LSX engine variations out there (and others, these are just a few) and just thought you guys might appreciate having extra info (info on the competition is always good!).

It would be essentially the same, so why post it. They post stuff like this to stir the pot and claim superiority...if its the same you can't claim your better so they left it out. Now, they could say...look what we did with 1.2 less liters of displacement or whatever.
The 5.0 is a nice motor, LSX is a nice motor...now settle it on the track, who cares about dyno #'s.

I will post the LS3 one but on that dyno the LS3 Camaro put down 365ish RWHP (about normal numbers IMO) and we knew there was gonna be a bunch of people crying foul about how such and such put down more power, so we're just gonna use a different graph, plus theres already a graph with both of them overlayed floating around here and on Camaro 5. We even decided to put up the dyno graph of the LS2 CORVETTE since it put down better numbers than the GTO dyno graph we have so that people dont start complaining about that one either. we also used a "cam only" LS1 that put down over 400rwhp even though we came across a bunch in the 380range. We wanted to use real world numbers. some people need to not take these things so personal. I have to give credit to the 5.0, it sure makes my 533 and other large engines look lazy

what do you mean? the GT weighs 3600lbs loaded with full tank of gas which isnt too far off from a loaded full tanked f-body (my friends LS1 TransAm came in at over 3750lbs with him in it (200lbs) and almost full tank of gas but no spare tire), not sure if its possible to put that in a graph unless you go by curb weights by year. Or do you want a comparison graph of curb weights of a GT vs F-Body vs Charger vs GTO and Cobras and others??? im not sure what youre requesting here....

I can't wait to race one of these cars, it looks like I'll have my work cut out for me but oh well, if I loose I can just explain how my car has 115,000 miles on it LOL and then I'll have a reason to buy some more parts. Those 5 liters make lots of power and the cars arn't fat cows, but if the driver can't get the car to hook off the line it's a done deal.

Curb weight graphs? I don't know what that's supposed to mean, but I do keep a database of basic numbers of a bunch of cars:
Which reminds me, i need to update that thing. The "M6" transmissioned mustang GT i have there was only a guesstimate on the rwhp.

the 5.0 graph we posted is within 3hp of that. 3hp difference is hardly worth arguing about, the thickness of the line might even be more than 3hp difference. As far as the Hemi, i thought they were in the 360range but this 357rwhp was the first full run we came across.

Me too. I sick of hearing what people think they will do. BTW I haven't seen a ls3 m6 dyno compared to a 5.0 dyno anywhere. Everyone wants to compare it the the L99 auto. Which isn't a fair comparison at all. I saw a cam and headers ls3 make 490 and some change at the wheels. Throw some cams and headers on a 5.0 and lets see what they will do. Not to mention the cost will be much greater.
