Default EPS cam only ls6

was impressed with the new combo. Considering that alot of power is getting eatin up by the 4000 neil chance/rossler th400/moser 9in locker setup. afr was 13:1 w/27 deg timing on speed density. 96 deg day.
We pulled it to about 7200rpm
https://ls1tech.com/forums/picture.p...ictureid=52221

Did 388rwhp couldnt get a torque reading due to the dyno not liking my car that day. It didnt want to register for some reason.

Details are :
Stock ls6 w/stock 243's
EPS cam 230/242 .600/.605 111+4 (installed straight up on 107)
stock un-ported vic jr. intake w/ accufab 4150 TB 42lb. injectors
PST 3.5in alluminum ds
Neil chance 9 in. 4000 stall
Rossler th400
Moser 9 in. w/detroit locker and 35 spline axles and 3.90 gear
3200 lbs. w/ me in it
Full suspension
getting a plate a.s.a.p to spray the 200 shot..

My old 6 speed setup did 381/404 with just bolt ons and 1.8 crane rockers on stock 241 heads.
so I imagine the auto setup is robbing atleast 60-80hp if not more.
Cant wait to get the spray finished and head to the track. I might just run it on motor until I get the plate. I can honestly say the auto setup feels like it would put bus lengths on the old 6 speed combo!
Anyone want to take any guesses at track times before it makes it out to the track?

was the converter locked?...what kind of dyno?

seems a little low to me unless it was a mustang dyno or it was unlocked...

track time guesses I will say 11.2s at 119mph going by dyno numbers and 3200 raceweight in around 0-1000ft da, with a good 60ft...

congrats for getting the car completed...it is going to be a beast on the 200 shot...

how can you get a horsepower reading without a torque reading? since horsepower is calculated from torque

anyway im sure it will run better then the dyno results

There is no lockup on a th400. And the big loose stall with all the beefy drivetrain is what is eating all the power up. big stalled, th400/9in. cars are never dyno cars. Theyre all business! Iv seen lots and lots of h/c/i 408 cars dyno low to mid 400's with similar setups but bust *** at the track. I also left about 40 hp on the table becuase I was a broke *** and unemployed and couldnt afford good heads or to have mine worked over at the time.. Owell, if I hurt the motor or have to pull the heads, some ETP's or TEA's are going on it.

If you don't have the wire from the dyno clipped good on the #1 plug wire or pink wire on the coil harness, it won't show a TQ reading.

To be honest, I could care less if a fast makes a few more ponies then the vic on motor.
In fact, it wouldnt on my setup. I have the cam/gears/tires/stall/nitrous setup for the vic. The fast with my cam would suck! and vice versa. And since this is a nitrous car, I chose the vic for better nitrous dispertion and the fact it wont blow apart on a backfire.
If I was going all motor, I wouldnt even think about going through the headache of getting the vic/4150 tb in the car. I would of opted for the fast with no hesitation.
No one part is going to make a certain setup better then the other. It's all the parts being matched for each other to really work.
Track times on the juice will tell if I did my homework... lol I just wish I wouldnt have got laid off in the middle of building the engine!! The plan was to build a forged high compression 347 and hit it with a 300 + ..
Guess now that I got my job back, Ill build it over the winter.. Hell, atleast I got the rest of the car and drivetrain done and waiting for the big power!

that cam would not suck with a fast especially being on a 111...mine is a 110+3, 239/243 I should have went with a 239/247 and I bet I would have gotten a few more hp up top...

I completely understand where you are coming from but that cam would work just nicely with a fast...

485rwhp 410rwtq here a4 locked, 12 bolt 4.10 gears on 28" mt's...

looking forward to seeing it on the jug

Hey chris niiice numbers man! Did you install the cam straight up on the 107? And did you ever dyno it unlocked to see what the difference was??
I know between the stock heads and the th400/9 in. im losing alot to the wheels! As long as it runs good on the dope i'll be happy.. It should dip in the 9's on the jug. Time will tell, I have been chasing a VSS issue with it lately and that could have possibly messed with the tune. got the tires coming this weekend and bringing it back up to the dyno to try to sort some **** out with the tune and the issues Im having. once I get it all sorted, I'll hit it with the spray and get some times.
