LS2 402 with AFR 225 heads...
This is a street /track use everyday driver with a LS2 block and a stroked 402 with a ARE dry sump system, electric water pump, TPIS throttle body and their ported out LS6 intake, I'm thinking that the FAST intake would have been better but I bought the TPIS late last season before the results of which intake was better was available.

The car is working flawlessly and has not had a single code or glitch. FTR built and installed a LS2 402 stroker motor with hydraulic cam. It feels stronger than the previous 422 and seems to like higher RPM more than the LS1 did.
We strapped her down on the dyno and ran a couple of base line tuning runs...fuel ratio, etc. After sorting that out Wade ran a n/a pass up to 7000RPM, which netted a 485 rwhp and a 440 rwtq, but it fell off sharply at 6500 rpm. It was still climbing up to this point so the new aluminum BBK air bridge may be restricting air flow into the TPIS throttle body, the BBK has a smaller diameter opening on both ends of the bridge due to the more than 1/4 inch thickness of the aluminum. That was a concern that Wade mentioned previously so we will do a few more tweaks and put on the old carbon fiber air bridge and try again later this week. It may also be that the M.A.F. is maxed out. We need to fool around with a few things to get that sorted out.
According to the dyno chart it is up 25 to 30 h.p. right across the board over the 422. On a comparision graph the new motor gets up to well over 400 hp almost immediately and goes on a nice up hill incline until 6500 rpm where it dives quickly...the problem area. This motor seems to want to pull all of the way up to 7000 rpm. We may see over 500 hp at the rear wheels after changing the air bridge and some more tuning, 15 hp is not that far off.
Surprisingly even the torque is up over what it was. We expected the smaller displacement motor (402) to have less torque but it is over the top of the old chart by about 20 ft lbs. across the graph and like the h.p. it gets up quicker and stays flatter across the top for longer.
All in all a good day with promising results. Ultimately the track will show the benefits of these results, I'm looking forward to that, but for an everyday street car I'm happy with the results.

Alright, I have not done anytuning on the car except what the hypertech did and we have bolted on for performance parts only:
SLP Bellow, SLP Lid, Holley air filter, 160 thermostat, NW 90mm TB, FAST 90mm intake, Kooks 1 3/4 headers, Kooks 3 inch Y-pipe, stock from y-pipe on back, the car is a 2001 trans am ws6 6spd and has 16,500miles on it. We dynoed before the intake and TB swap out and we made 356HP and 375TQ; now the day that i went to dyno it was raining and it was humid so i didn't expect good numbers. We dynoed with NO TUNING added to the car ( still hypertech) and we dynoed roughly 365 and 385. as you can see this is the STD horsepower from the graph. That would be a 10HP and 10TQ gain from what he had, and that was on a shitty rainy day.
It was expensive but we are getting ready to do a cam swap in a while so i feel that even though we spent $1260 for the intake and TB it was worth it.
we are getting ready to do some tuning and change a couple of things, lean it out a bit more becuase it is running rich, so i could see more gains easily. For just bolt ons I would also like to know what others numbers have been from the 2000-2002 year cars.

With the trex, i did 427rwhp/392rwtq...
With the addition of an LSX 90/90 i did 441rwhp/395rwtq.
Gained 14rwhp/3rwtq... picked up a little bit down low, and a LOT up top. Much broader power band...

My dyno pulls were started at 3800 so I cannot tell anything under that. I was very skeptical about doing the intake swap as I had seen so many inconsistant results. But I am glad I did.
BTW Without a retune there was a 1 hp gain. Then with the retune Eastside had found another 19 hp ( i had just been tuned a month or so before the intake swap so I was on point with the ls6 intake. I went from saying man what a waste of money when I pulled in to man that is a really nice gain and when you have all the bolt ons and a nice h/c package there really isnt much more to do. Also I had a stock Tb on my car . I think If I had a ported TB I might not have seen as much.
