Default AES 442 stroker

This is in my 2001 m6 with a mwc 9 inch and ls7 clutch, stock 17" 10 spoke rims with a street tire.
Intake is a fast 90 with a NW 90mm tb. I did take the dremel to the large end of the ports to clean them up. A port match had been done for a previous set of heads everything was close except for the bottom of the port which was actually lower then the head so there wasn't anything that I could do about it. At least 1/16" lip
Weather conditions were not ideal it was 90 degrees, 994.5 mBars and humidity was 33%
There is another post which Fraser expands upon the build but this was by no means a maximum effort build the cam is a 244-248 615, 613 on a 114 lsa comp xer lobes. TFS 235 heads Callies rotating assembly.
So first pull was to 5000 rpm just to check afr and the engine made 505 rwhp 495 rwtrq.
Without to many pulls the car made 550 rwhp and 512 rwtrq.
The tuner felt that the 85mm maf is really a restriction, The way the vacum increased at about 6000 rpm also the maf had basically run out of callibration. He felt that with a larger maf or a speed density tune the motor had another 20-30 hp in it.
Personally I don't care I just love the feel of that big fat torque curve.
AES did just what I wanted but Fraser there is no way that thing idles like a Honda and everyone that has listened to the motor cannot believe how quiet the top end is. There is no valve train noise at all.
I also want to thank Arun who tuned the car. He spent so much time on the road tune and getting it right that it was 3 pulls to dial in the wot.
I know that this is a lengthly post but I wanted to answer all of the most common questions.

Lose the Maf and go SD, I picked up 13rwhp just by losing the MAF

I think that I will probably just do a SD tune in the future.
One other strange thing, dynoed with the cutout open. the last run closed the cutout and ran it through the stock muffler. It was only a 4 hp difference.

good power! i'd say 550 was the objective.

Room for improvements over time on the intake and SD tuning.

Enjoy it!

Considering the loss from the temp's, the rear end and the maf I'm more then happy. I will get on Arun to send over the graph. The torque curve just backs up the way the car reacts part throttle.

you can fix that gap between the intake and the heads by shimming the intake up...use a thicker gasket...mine had about 1/8"-3/16" step...

I didn't know that you could get a thicker gasket for the fast intake.

Headers are Kooks 13/4-17/8 stepped, 3" collector 3" into a flowmaster collector 3" out to the stock 3" over the axle crimped bend. 3" cutout at the back of the tail pipe. then into the stock SLP single muffler with dual out that comes with the center mount exhaust.

Well the car ran a 11.6 at 130.5 mph with a 1.97 sixty foot on a drag radial. Front sway bar and only the drivers seat for weight reduction.

Great power OJ. I'd get rid of those stepped headers and go to a full 1 7/8" primary. That big 442 needs it!

That is some trap speed there!!! You need to get that 60' down and you will run mid 10's probably.

Yea getting the sixty foots down is going to take some practice. Shredded the ls7 clutch on the third pass. So I have a McLeod street twin going in tomorrow and will see what I can do. Certainly changing up the headers and intake would gain me more HP but I'm happy with what I have for now. This was never about a maxium effort build, just a torque monster that is fun to drive on the street. I guess that I will have to blame AES for building a motor well beyond my expectations.
