I agree your setup should be around 400 rwhp on a dynojet, but not running that AFR. Bump the rev limiter to 6600 rpm, tune peak torque to 12.5 and anything above 5000 rpm lean out to 12.8. LS6 intake, bolt ons, unmilled 243s and a small cam is right around 400 rwhp. Mill your heads a little, do a nice valve job and throw on a ported fast like my setup and it will really rip. Also 243's like 22-24 degrees of timing up to 5000 rpm and 23-25 degrees up to the rev limiter.

Tuning issues aside, you already said in another thread that you could really feel this cam pull.

When I install my eps 222/226 113 I'll have your same setup but on stock 241s. Geoff told me I could expect around 380rwhp give or take (just for reference, I'm not holding him to that number)

From watching your clip, it seems to me the issue is reconciling 1) the dyno numbers with what you would see on a dyno back in the US, and 2) the inconsistency in back to back runs 440-480-360...??? Clutch?
When you see 440-437-457-489 it's a flywheel horsepower. He has some kind of formula in his dyno dynamics compute it to rear wheel HP thus you'll see 357-360-361 etc, vice versa.

Remember this is a loaded dyno, dyno dynamics, famous to spit out lower numbers than any other dyno already.

I just talked to my tuner just awhile ago and he said all the pulls were done on 3rd gear.

Ooppsss... your 1 to 1 gear is 4th... go back and re-dyno... 3rd will show a lower number... 5th would show a higher number.. ( if I remember this correctly... )

Yeah, he knows about the 1:1 on 4th gear however he chose to do it on 3rd because of the fact that he didn't want to run the car 100+ on the dyno.

I'm going to try to convince him to see to run the car just once on 4th gear just to see the numbers when I get it retune.

Honestly dude... how far are you from a DynoJet dyno??? Get a number that is easier to compare with...

Your tuner sounds like an idiot, I would cut my losses and never let him touch my car again. You have hptuners, by a wideband and tune the thing yourself. It's a great skill to have.

Go register on www.hptuners.com and start reading / posting. If you want you can post up your tune and I will look it over to see what needs to be adjusted.

My shop here in Western Washington made me sign a release, that if the engine blew on their dyno at 6500 while they tune it, it was MY fault not theirs :-/

I guess the Brits are so polite they take responsibility for it?

Yes, they are considerate. His shop is literally in the middle of nowhere so if I end up with a fubar engine from his dyno tune, it would be a really bad day for me.

I know this thread is a little old, but I just stumbled across it and felt compelled to post as I'm sure the OP will be interested in what I've got to say.

I'm in the UK too and had my Z28 dyno tuned at the same place as the OP a couple of months back after having my LT's fitted. It made 369.4 rwhp, which was calculated to be 450.1 hp at the flywheel and there's no way my car should be making as much power as the OP's, so something is definitely not right...no idea what, but somewhere something is not right. My graphs are below...

Quick Reply: Dyno results: EPS cam w/ stock 243 heads.
