Stock Dyno- dissapointing results---graph I put my 98 trans am on the dyno today- would have been happy with about 20 more hp, seems kinda low---263 hp 284tq. Car is bone stock, down to paper filter, A4. 143k miles, runs great. In the coming months, im gonna do lid, ls6 intake, long tube headers, with ory, new plugs and wires. I think id pick up a few hp with new plugs and wires cause mine seem really old, but gonna wait till i do headers before i do that. Only thing wrong with the car is i have a bad knock sensor. Im replacing them with new acdelcos when i do ls6 intake. Questions---Doesnt 263hp, 284tq seem kinda low? Will a bad knock sensor, cause lower hp???

Verdad Gallardo The LS6 valley cover replaces the LS1 PCV system. It has a PCV/Oil separator in the valley cover that throws the oil mist back into the crankcase rather than sucking it into the intake. It gets rid of the hoses running from the valve covers. I have noticed a huge improvement in oil consumption. I no longer add oil between oil changes. Make sure you get the 04+ LS6 valley cover, it has an internal PCV. Makes the motor cleaner, and the engine bay look better.

So I went ahead and replaced both knock sensors, and installed the LS6 valley cover. You can see next to the throttle body the U-shaped hose coming from the valley cover to the intake. It's hard to see, but theres no more hoses wrapped around the motor from the PCV. Again, the oil consumption is WAY better, I don't add oil between changes any more..
