New dyno numbers on LG Motorsports Stroker
We finished freshening the motor recently and added a new intake. Before I went on the Hot Rod Power Tour last year I cracked a block. I had promised my son we would go and Lou said the motor would hold up if I took it easy, so off we went.
Well, the editor of Hot Rod, Steve Magnante asked me to put my car in the dyno challenge and after thinking about it and getting a promise from Lou to come and get me if it went craps, I agreed.
With a cracked block the motor only made 462 RWHP and 471 RWTQ. Since the weather was brutally hot, and the block was cracked, I wasn't too disapponted. Also, it was enough to get the car featured in the November issue of Hot Rod.
Well, after a new block and some freshening of the heads, (three valves were bent also), I decided to finish the mods that I wanted while the car was down. I put Corbeau seats in, a TPIS intake and TB, a new (blueprinted and upgraded) tranny from Transmission Specialists, a fresh drive shaft, new Spec Stage III clutch, new flywheel, Maziere water pump, and a Greddy catch can.
We dynoed the car and it made 530/524 rear wheel. As soon as I can figure out how, I will post the dyno graph.
Needless to say, the car is very strong. it made 513/512 before the block came undone, but since it was down on power for so long, this power level is a lot of fun.

mike m- if I am not mistaken, he is running LG's heads; I'm pretty sure that the vast majority of Randy's setup pre-dates the LG/Absolute Speed alliance.
However, I could easily be wrong... it's happened before, and it'll happen again...

I don't understand some folks. Still, the car is what it is. I don't claim to be the fastest or make the most power, but I don't know very many people that are more. I know there are plenty out there though so I don't get too big a head. That will wait until I get my TT built.

Did Lou G do the improvements on your motor and the tune too?
BTW, do you run this on any road race courses?

Lou did all the work except the machine work, that was done by Kim Barr Racing engines. I have had it on a few for some open track days. The last place I went was Road America where it ran over 170 on the long front straight. That was before the new block, head work etc.

Thanks, I had already looked up the specs, this is a very impressive motor, but its not a daily driver. But it is a bad ***.

What a trip that must've been. Instead of the LG brake upgrade, you should spring for six pot ALCONS or Brembo's.
Totally impressed.

Guy's there is no point in comparing Gordon's FMS Solid Roller to this setup. It is NOT apples to apples so it's pretty much unecessary to even compare to two...
That is one KICK *** graph. The TQ curve is beautiful, bet that bitch is fun as hell on the street with some heated up slicks
