Default Fasterproms HC LS7 TSP heads, FAST, Custom Cam, LGs

This particular combination was designed for resale through a dealer as an alternative to a ZR1, even though the results will annihilate a modded ZR1. The goal was the MOST DOCILE best DRIVEABILITY combo possible but with a very healthy sounding idle. We could have made much more power with a larger cam but the driveability would not have been just like stock.

The Car is a 2010 LS7 w/ 4k miles and it will be used as a package demo and eventually resold. A few other areas of concern were to address the exhaust valve issues. A big Thank you to Texas Speed for porting and setting up the heads for us! They set us up with Some bronze valve guides and stainless exh valves for best longevity. When they took apart the heads they had the most wear/play in the exh guide they had seen in regards to the mileage. We also wanted to run the Yella terra Roller rockers to cut on wear of the valvetrain, again in the mindset of longevity.

We base lined the car STOCK at 432RWHP and 405RWTQ.
Final results were 574RWHP and 509RWTQ with a very nice lopey idle and mild shake (all of which can be made more mild or aggressive through tuning).

Mod List:
Vararam CAI, Fasterproms ported TB and ported FAST LSX 102, TSP CNC heads milled -.050. Custom Cam 231/247 116LSA .660 lift, Yella terra RRs, LG headers w/CATS, Fasterproms Muffler mod.

Based on our experience here this should be a very solid 136mph+ with a poor driver on a hot day!
Customer called back yesterday to thank us for meeting exactly what he was after and exceeding our power expectations. I drove my bolt-on 07 Z06 yesterday and other than the idle lope the driveability was almost identical.

We will have many more videos that will be getting up on youtube so stay tuned!

Very nice numbers and work Jeremy...
Whats the compresstion of the engine with milled heads?

Do you think aftermarket catback will gain anything?
Any dyno graph?

I've never seen a bronze guide come close to the durability of a properly setup powdered metal guide.

A solid valve with a PM guide will be the most durable.

TFS has PM guides for LS7 heads if that helps.

Thank you Guys!
Gordon have you ever been around a cammed car with a fast manifold? The Fast alone is much louder but then add on the aggressive ramp rates of the cam accellerating faster to and from the seat and the dual valve springs, etc etc. But yeah it is a bit louder than stk
Doug I am collecting parts and will be going on with mine in a bout 2 weeks I hope. I will let you guys know how that turns out.

Nice power Jeremy. Did you take any pulls higher than 6600 rpm? Normally, you can expect the LS7 to scream to beyond its 7000 rpm rev limiter. Did you experience any valve control issues above 6500 rpm? The reason I ask is that some people have reported valve control issues when running LSL lobes with 1.8 rockers. I know it depends a lot on valve weight and geometry, but I was curious in this case.

Patrick- I did do a few pulls to about 6800 or so but as you can see in the dyno graph it fell off at 6500. Now the Yella terras were pretty beefy and It was a concern of mine...their weight that is.
I am planning on running very similiar figures of this cam but I will probably run the stk rockers and see how she does.
Well I was hoping it would peak about 6600-6700 myself but it made what I hoped it would make. So I am still curious myself but we will learn more with time.
Engine HP- I believe the 255 intake runner or whatever texas speed does for their typical porting.

Jeremy

That was a pretty lame thing to post in this thread, Brian.

But since you brought it up, I've added the powder metal guide option to our website.

Congrats on the new power for your customer, Jeremy. Talk to you soon about some more heads!

Totally unrelated but just had a customer go into the 9s with his DAILY DRIVER CTSV.
The interesting part is, STOCK TRANS AND CONVERTER.
