also with the last post, is a .60x lift ok for a 383 with prc ls6 stg 2 heads? And a high lsa, 114+2 or 115+3?
I`ve narrowed it down to custom cam 236-240, 238-242 or a MS3(237-242 and all with a 114+ lsa for a smoother idle.
I want it to drive stockish, doesnt have to sound or be Stock, but stockish as in no bucking.

Edit, looks like i got some advice from a very smart repectable man and i finally figured out how to compare cams etc.
238-242 .60X .6XX 114+2 - 115+2.

Please if anyone has input about this(not worth switching, how it would act, power under curve etc) Although im pretty set on it as of now, doesnt hurt since i have till the the middle to end of summer to decide after i see how my tv2 does.

his cam and header choice are really holding that engine back. 1 5/8" block huggers on a motor that big is prob worth 20whp through a stalled auto, esp given that intake/head combo. i am not a magic stick fan so ya the cam sucks hahaha .

I have a very similar set up in my 2000. It is an A4 (3600 stall) thru the 10 bolt, PRC stg 2.5 heads, 238-242 custom cam (lift in the 6xx range on a 112), LS6 intake, stock throttle body, mac mid headers and y (very small and need to change out). It made 450/440, drivability is fine by me (no bucking and minimal cam surge, but it is an A4 so that helps), and runs 11.2-11.5 @ 118-120 depending on how the track is prepped (minimal suspension mods done).

I've been following your thread, 1991ls13. I had the Comp Cams 232-234@.050" .595"-.598" - 112LS and 110CL . 11.5-1. It made 486rwhp and 455lbtq. The rest is in the sig. This was 5 years ago. Today I'd look at the LSR Cams around the same size. Don't go too big as the cylinder diameter isn't big enough. 92-92 TB/Int - 215 or TEA stage 3 243-241's. 11.5-1 comp. 1 7/8"X3" Kooks or Am Racing Hedders. This motor likes to breath and rev around 6800-7200rpm. 42lb injectors. Good Luck
