Default 25 Hp gain dyno proven,,LOL

Anyone got this months issue of Hot Rod magazine Yet, Hilarious,,they took their Ghetto stripped corvette and put two gas powered leaf blowers on it, goin thru a carb hat. Looks ugly as homemade soap, cant help but laughing. The only thing funnier is that it actually produced about an even 25 hp over Base, all the way thru the curve. It is definately worth reading for the laughs. Now all I can imagine are civics with a hole cut in their hood so their BLOWERS can get cool air. I promise someone will do this to their street car, it will look great in front of that 5 foot high wing on their Decklid. Hilarious, reminds me of some stuff car craft magazine would do.

There's one on youtube where not only do they stick a leaf blower into an S-10 on the dyno but they also spray the leaf blower openly with a bottle of nitrous to pick up even more power lol...

I saw that. They then put on twin leaf blowers and the result was a full pound of boost. Hilarious.

Is it sad that i was JUST arguing with a kid who owns a civic about this earlier this morning.... I dont see how it makes ''1lb'' of boost, most leaf blowers create about 70(ish) mph, but it doesn't pressurize it, so how is it any different then say driving 70mph with true ram air????

Even though its not a constant displacement induction systen it still introduces a pressurized charge into the intake, albeit a minimul charge. If you didnt get to read the article, They did this on a carbed car, the two blowers were fed and sealed together meeting at a Carb Hat that seals the blowers to the carb. Hilarious, even more so because they drove the car, and were seen in Public driving it, If it were me I woulda had my gorilla mask on..That is the life, messin around and having fun,,Oh yeah also get their hands on some of the baddest cars, and performance parts Given to them..Anyone else like me,,they wouldnt have to pay me a dime to do it, Id prolly pay a lil bit actually...

The funny part is, I think the civic kid is correct, the leaf blower can in fact build pressure. A leaf blower impeller works exactly like that of a centrifugal supercharger... or any other sort of pump/fan. Pressure is built up do to centrifugal force of the air being accelerated from the eye of the impeller to the outside when it meets the restriction of the discharge tube to the atmosphere. Put a restriction in the line like an engine and you sure as hell will see "boost". Sure it's a small amount that might normally be measured on the in/H20 scale, but it's no different than a centrifugal supercharger. As a nice little extra piece of information, Ram air builds a small amount of pressure, or boost as well.

It was a great article. I laughed all the way through it. I've searched for a video of it. Can't find one. Bah...

I've wanted to do this for the longest time, it would be hilarious to pull up next to someone and start up your "supercharger"
