new 383

This is really encouraging reading this. As I read this I am putting the finishing touches on my forged 383 w/ported ls2 heads from patriot and an ls6 intake. For a cam I have an ms4 and pacesetter headers with sweet thunder true duals from tsp and in about a month it's getting installed in my 02 ss slp camaro. I'm glad I found this thread because for a minute I thought I might have built the wrong motor with everyone building these big inch high dollar 402 and 416 that I can't afford. Great thread!

Stock 10bolt?? If so,minus about 25hp for a 12bolt and gears.
98WORKHOURSE-You don't need a 402 to make power. My boy has a 383ci that makes just over 500hp with a steel drive shaft,un toucked fast 90 intake,12bolt w/4.11's on a mustang dyno. He does have higher compression to get the power up 11.7: and a good set of heads in trickflows. He has the best of everything you can buy and still has more in it if he choose to get a newer fast and have it ported. Even my ls1 made 463hp 414tq on a stang dyno, steel shaft,un ported fast 90,12bolt w/4.11's and that combo had more in it too if i got greedy.

We will be waiting for numbers and I'm almost sure that you will break 500 with that great combo and a good tune.
