I disagree

As stated, the small gains you would see wouldn't be worth the beating your motor would take at those rpms for most people.
I didn't say it wouldn't make power, I said there was no need.
The ls6 cam has a wide 117.5 lsa which extends its power band up into the 6500 range even though the cam is alot smaller duration then a 228 cam.

For example my eps 230/234 111+4lsa cam peaked at 6350 rpms if it was 111+0 it would prob be closer to 6700.

I fully comprehend that. I have a custom 226/228 .588 114 and I don't spin mine past 6500. Is there a little more I could squeeze out? I'm sure, but for my intentions and goals, the tradeoff isn't worth it.

It still doesn't change that for the vast majority of people the tradeoff wouldn't be worth it to spin It that high. Chances are If you have an ls6 cam you arent looking for every last little drop anyhow.

I dont know why anyone is still talking to me about where an ls6 cam dies off, unless you just aren't paying attention or not comprehending what I'm saying.

If you want optimal performance out of a LS6 cam, shifting at 6500 will perform better than shifting at 6000....ask anyone that got a bone stock C5 Z06 in the 11's...guarantee they were shifting 6400++++

If you don't want optimal performance, then listen to lemons12

Do you have someone you are trying to get to believe that? Is that why you are repeating yourself? Let me know cause I will help you make them believe that statement is true.

If not, who are you arguing with?

He's simply stating the fact about the LS6 cam. If you want to maximize your ET you need to rev it. That simple. Comparing it to an aftermarket cam is not a fair or accurate comparison. If you would look at the dyno chart of a LS6 cam car you will see it peaks around 6000 and holds nearly flat to around 6600 rpms where it typically is 50 or more rwhp compared to the stock LS1 cam. That's huge and why you need to rev this cam. Hope this helps.

Well if you understand why are you asking why people are shifting that high? There maximizing there power band. I don't see what the problem is with reving it past 6500 anyways as long as you have an 01+ long block with the upgraded rod bolts. Just set the rev limiter to 6800 and shift at 6600. They should handle that all day considering stock ls6 engines had there rev limiters set at 6600 from the factory.

staying in a lower gear longer will maximise acceleration. If that's not the goal here what is? Why would you want to shift before peak hp? I bet you get outran alot.

FWIW, my car shifts at ~6450 to try to preserve the stock tranny. If the trans was built I would spin it to 6700 w/o thinking twice.

Have you ever thought about adding a set of 1.8-1.85 rockers to your setup? I know they are pricey new, but a used set for the right price might be worth it.... Power should peak slightly earlier too.

Sorry to highjack, but to spin the extra rpms in a 2000 I need to upgrade the rod bolts?

Sure, I've thought about it. The car is for sale now though so no more modding for me.
