Default TVS 1900 09 Avalanche by AMS

2009 LTZ with 5.3 / 6L80E

The truck is a very nice daily driver, but was lacking a few things so the goal was to increase HP/TQ as well as appearance/handling while not compromising drivability or the ride. We chose the Magnuson TVS route combined with some suspension upgrades and the customer is more then pleased with the results

TVS 1900 / 6.6 psi
K&N drop in filter
LS2 injectors
stock fuel pump
NGK TR6 plugs
MSD wires
SLP / Eibach Sport suspension which is about a 2" drop
Hellwig front and rear sway bars
SLP PowerFlo catback

Base Line

250 rwhp / 264 rwtq on our MD

Post Dyno w/ AMS Tune

371 rwhp / 354 rwtq on our MD

prior to alignment

i noticed the single inlet dual outlet muffler that is merged back into a single pipe. What is the reasoning for that?

SLP has a dual outlet option, so when we seen that we made the assumption they use the same muffler for both system.

The midrange torque gains are sick. Gotta be a much more enjoyable ride now.

stock cam
stock manifolds and cats

no it was not dropping power yet at 5800ish, but we were were not looking for a big peak#. We were looking for more average power and decided no reason to turn it higher. We might just turn it a little higher the next time on the dyno and see how it works. 6000ish

I'm already working on a couple more upgrades.
- pulley swap
- custom HE reservoir upgrade ( in 2nd spare battery location )
- brake upgrade ( C6 Z or Baer ).

The customer just loves the truck, but now wants some stopping power.

We were hoping for 8 psi, but only hit 6.6 psi so now we will shoot for a little more power with the additional cooling.

This will be later summer after we get his 4th Gen SS upgrades done in Aug.

i totally understand the avg power statement. it's interesting to see how the stock cam's curve actually changed so much with the addition of fi. are you guys using stock valvesprings?

Am I the only one that would be more than dissappointment with those numbers? If I spent well over 5k on a blower setup and it only picked up 100 RWHP I'd be pissed.

The blower may have picked up less considering you did exhaust, tune and a filter.

you do seem to be, but that's o.k

it picked up more then 100 rwhp if you look at the peaks and it was still pulling hard

The catback was worth 5 maybe 10 rwhp tops. The drop in filter is part of the Magnuson kit and when most would do a CAI I chose the stock air box for this DD. I would bet that the filter is worth min as well.

I also want to mention this isn't a bogus glory cool down # either and done hot, on a hot humid day in a hot dyno room. This way the truck performs as it should out on the road.

thanks everyone for the positive feedback

Really?? There are cam only 5.3s that make more power. I guess some people are happy making 370rwhp with a blower on a lsx motor.

wow!

it's a 5.3 / 6L80E, 6.6 psi , steel driveshaft, big tire, stock manifolds, stock cats, stock air box, hot day, hot run on a MD dyno with a DD truck. We are happy with and the customer is super happy with it which is most important.

sorry it doesn't please you, but you have now shared your feedback and I kindly ask if you can move onto another thread

thanks

it's cool. at what point would you consider swapping to some pac 1218s or ls6 springs? just curious if it would be due to more power (from something like full exhaust), more rpm, or more psi. or a combo of the 3...?
