dyno numbers for slp 1.85 rockers

Yea you can get roller rockers for way less than $700, plus install? You're kidding me right? Do you not own tools?
I'm curious as to why everyone looks at this as primarily a cam replacement mod.. some power is to be had from just the friction loss of going to a roller rocker, not just the lift. I udnerstand the stock rockers are a quality piece, but if I could pick up 5-10hp for less than $400 .. that isn't too bad to me especially since they would easily swap back for stock rockers if you were to sell your car.

9hp and 17lf/ft for all that money and hassle. It's obvious that stock rockers are good for 1000+whp cars and some big cams, so why waste the $ on these rockers? The loss of friction MIGHT be 1-2hp of that. Retarded mod, waste of money. Buy a cam.

Not everybody wants to tear into there motor! If you are staying bolt-on only then its a good mod to get more out of the stock cam. Im not being biased either, the 1.85's were on my car when I bought it. Yes they are pricey, but its a decent gain for the stock cam, bumps the lift to .505-.521 on the 01-02 cars. even higher on the 98-00 cars(since they had a higher lift stock cam). it all depends on what you want out of the car. if I was planning on putting a cam in, then the rockers would be a waste imo...

Someone just posted that they got 400 WHP on their C6 (LS2) with 1.85 rockers, cai and tune. No headers added......... 1.9s work good on my car I am just DRs and maybe headers from running 11s.

i think that these rockers are an awesome mod for people trying to stay street friendly and not tearing into the engine. the more mods you have the more they will help. imagine if he had full bolt-ons and a set of ls6 heads, hed prob pick up 15hp and 25ft-lbs but he was basically stock when he installed these.
i dont know how to change a cam and dont wanna screw anything up but i do know how to change heads ive done that before so ill be doing a set of ls6 heads that had a cleanup mill and valve-job done to them along with some dual valve-springs and titanium retainers and then installing these rockers at the same time. i am hoping that the heads and rockers combo will get me about 40-50hp at the wheels since it basically turns my ls1 setup into a stock z06 setup and i have all the bolt-ons to go with it.
this should be an easy swap and especially goin from '98 heads to the "better" 243 heads with the triangles near the spark plug holes 40-50hp should be no problem when doin the rockers and heads at the same time because i am thinkin they will compliment each other

also i was online researching the quarter mile differences between the 1999 corvette hardtop ls1 and the 2002 zo6 which weigh exactly the same and with motor trend there is .8 second difference in the quarter mile and with car and driver there is a .9 second difference which is huge!!
even if i stay conservative and say .6-.7 difference, thats equal to 60-70hp at the crank and these tests were all done on street tires. with drag radials the difference would be even more.

What year is the car that you put these on? I think that your gains are pretty good for those rockers, I put a set on my 04 GTO and I could feel and hear the difference. With that said, you may need new valve springs and I'm sure you have to change them out with a 98-99 LS1.
